The most Free country in the WORLD!

But 1 out of every 100 adults in America is currently locked in a cage.

Quote:

In 1980, according to the Sentencing Project, a Washington-based advocacy group, an estimated 41,000 people were in prison or jail for drug offenses, and by 2003, that population had grown to nearly a half-million. Now, some 2.3 million people - about 1 in every 100 U.S. adults - are incarcerated.

"The most free country in the world" = The biggest lie ever told.

BlackCrayon 06-12-2011 10:47 AM

Agent 488 06-12-2011 10:47 AM

Only literal/figurative children who need their mommies and daddies to keep them safe would be afraid to live in freedom.

1)true there are far too many people in jail for non-violent crime i.e. drug offenses.
2)true there are many many violent psychotics in jail for very good reason.
3)the prison business has been booming because it's one of those areas that can really weather a recession:helpme

no, law and order is needed to keep violent psychos, rapists and thugs behind bars.
the wild and whacky world of mad max may sound like fun to many, but in reality this course only leads to further de-evolution.

freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose;)

what's it like living in a world where rapists and psychos are lurking around every corner? Sounds like you're living in fear already, no freedom needed.

The freedom to take a shit is not revoked simply because authority requires you to
shit in a toilet.

that god for that though really, I'm glad they have them all behind bars so we can all sleep perfectly safe knowing crime has been eradicated thanks to the diligent efforts of authority with machine-like levels of competency.

Thanks big brother!

But you have been stripped of the freedom to shit on the ground like humans have for tens of thousands of years.

so yes, you do lose freedom. you lose freedom with every law.

more authority = more laws = less freedom.
that is an inescapable fact.

DaddyHalbucks 06-12-2011 11:28 AM

Animals belong in cages.

Caligari 06-12-2011 11:31 AM

I will explain this once.

Humans are essentially untrustworthy, whether by irrational behavior or premeditative acts.

To advocate freedom without restriction for everyone to do what they will is naive at best, retarded at worst.

Agent 488 06-12-2011 11:32 AM

41. The word of Sin is Restriction. O man! refuse not thy wife, if she will! O lover, if thou wilt, depart! There is no bond that can unite the divided but love: all else is a curse. Accursed! Accursed be it to the aeons! Hell.

we are cattle

You feel lost without your computer, Ipod, Xbox, big screen, music, drugs or favorite food.

Now they facially recognized you and all your affiliations. They read your tweets, emails, likes and posts. They know what you want, and when to give it to you, so you stay pacified and they stay in power.

All message boards ban people. There should be no illusion to any of us that we are truly free in any capacity.

sosexysohot 06-12-2011 12:55 PM

2.3 millions? Crazy number. I can't imagine the costs for keep those people locked.

Here in Brazil I think that we do not have jails to lock 10% of this...

Who is looking for freedom must come to Brazil.

Ask Paul Markham he told me.

Dead 06-12-2011 02:43 PM

The system designed to serve and protect became a business in which the means have surpassed what it was originally set up to uphold. Take a look at any rookie officer and you will see the desperate look of saving his job with pulling people over for a fucking seatbelt violation. If you have the time, go to the courthouse and fight said ticket. As you sit waiting for your justice to be heard, watch and listen to all the other cases in the room. Money drives this bitch, nothing more nothing less. and yes, I was able to beat the ticket with a simple cash donation to the court PA. Freedom was a nice dream, but not one you can afford here in the USofA.

Blame drug laws for that.

If the government is serious about boosting the economy, how about relaxing drug laws and freeing up all that spending? Less spending means they can afford to lower taxes. Lower taxes to promote more business formation.

Not true because people in prison are animals, and animals deserve to be in cages, you see..

Keeping people locked up in Jails is big business in the US.

In short, it's not the people but the system.

The system isa reflection of the system.

If they put drug addicts in jail for drug addtiction, then they should put fat people in jail for eating too much.

In American, that would be like 80%....

Absolutely, our insane criminal sentencing policies have fucking nothing to do with justice and everything to do with corporate profits

Coup 06-12-2011 03:10 PM

How our society treats non-violent felons after they've paid their debt is even more fucking disgusting

The system is a reflection of what we, as a society, will allow.

no more

no less

many do not. regardless what you would see is a bunch of gangs both protecting and taking advantage of other groups, excersizing their own brand of justice and in the end, it will still be the strong having authority over the weak.
