I have recently picked up three different cook books and have some favorites.

Dinner party cuisine, no. Guy food and basic stuff I'm really good at. And enjoy it.

i love cooking - thinking about taking some culinary arts classes to take my cooking to new level and learn haute cuisine.

nice, cooking is a life time of study, and many cannot cook vegetable based dishes, way to go. did vegan cooking for like 4+ years, can be challenging coming up with new stuff all the time LOL

Yes, I also have a bit of a cookbook addiction too.. All used though, just can't turn down a good deal.

I'm about to start a new blog for anything food related, to prop up one of my mainstream projects, and also so I can write off my groceries as a business expense. Since I can make some money from a cooking blog, I can buy items for reviews, taste tests, brand info, etc etc. Sounds like a legit business expense to me. It's also cooking I can argue I wouldn't have done if it weren't for the blog posts.

I love to cook and do most of the big meal cooking in our house. I hate the clean up.

My wife and I are both foodies, and we love to cook (although she is by far the better chef).

You know you're a foodie when most of the photos on your iPhone are pix you took while cooking, or are of meals that you ate at restaurants. :party-smi

Baking is MILES easier than 'cooking'. Baking is science. You follow the recipe. It works. Cooking has a lot more room for improvisation and creativity. But with baking, well if you don't put in exactly that amount of flour/egg/baking soda etc, it just won't work.

I don't agree because I'm also baker challenged. I've always been a good cook but could never bake well and yes, I just follow the recipe to a T.

Just recently I wanted to get better at baking and have been doing more. Coconut cake, mmmm.

baking and cooking, in theory, is not inherently more difficult than the other. I know people can bake cookies but cannot cook a good steak to save their life.
