My favorite thing to do. Especially grilling ;)
|
well recently i have been debating what courses to take and I think i am definitely going to trade History class for focus on Culinary Arts, hahaha
I want to learn every aspect of food preparation, and it seems the only way to do so is be apprentice to executive chef... so a new adventure may be upon me! Luckily my area has some of the best culinary art programs, and since its new orleans, you know we can cook down here! I, like many love to cook and prepare food - there is sooo much mor to it than internet recipes and I want to learn the right way. |
I'm not a woman ...
|
Yep, and bake.
|
Really enjoy cooking but can't post images of my gourmet talents lol cause I don't have enough posts :Oh crap
|
I can cook, grill, BBQ, and bake

I agree with your whole statement Minus the Making is Miles "easier' then cooking. In Baking if you miss a step or as a bit off Your Fucked. Even if you follow exactly Depending on the actual ingredients you can still have something not turn out exactly right. Cooking you can Correct errors. Improv etc. Working in Hotels i have not seen too many Bakers Cook well and Vice versa. Each is for different minded people |
I can. I think every man must be able to cook some meet for his lady :)
|
Not a lazy fuck but i have a wife for that.
|
hell yea.. favourite foods for the win
|
Damn straight. Cooking is my favorite thing to do in the world. I mostly like to do Mexican and South American food and any sort of grilling or smoking. Pickling has been my new passion lately.
Brunch is something I do alot too at my house for my friends. |
Cooking and baking is good stuff.
I go through 10 or 15 lbs of flour a month in baking breads etc. Best thing is measure by weight, not volume. That will help with getting consistent results. |
yummy... hungry now! lol

I cook all kinds of stuff, and have actually written cookbooks. I am gluten-free and specialize in meals that have been adapted for gluten-free lifestyles :)

Hell yeah, I love cooking, both Natalie & I do.. We make the meanest roast, succulent potatoes, swede, parsnips, broccoli, cabbage, stuffing with a whole onion & loads of sausage meat, plus not forgetting the yorkshires made not frozen... Tortilla espaniola, made from potatoes, lightly fried & not burnt, 2 large onions & 9 maybe 10 eggs, salt & pepper. Lasagne, with a layer of boiled eggs, true Sicilian style.... The fullest plate of fry ups with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, fried bread & toast, fried eggs, tomatoes & sausages.
Damn, im glad ive just eaten... mashed potato with bacon & egg.. Try mashing with butter & black pepper, at least 8 turns on the grinder :) Best dinner has to be the simple meat, potato & 2 veg, maybe grilling steak or lamb chops.. Hard heat to seal the juices then slow it down to bring it to a mouth watering taste :) |
My first job was as a trainee chef at one of London's top hotels.
Cook nearly everything I eat. Has to be things in sauces as it aids my swallowing. Make it up as I go along, tasting and adjusting. |
I can follow recipes with the best of em and have made some truly amazing eats because of it, so if that's the question, that's easy. Baking is the same way.... just follow the directions.
Now COOKING???? taking raw ingredients and knowing what to do with them without instruction from any other source? Working on that. That's where true professionals have mad skillz. I can do that with a camera. I can make awesomeness from nothingness. When it comes to food, I would love to go to cooking school for the experience of it. |
I can boil a mean pot of water like no one else. I'm like the master water boiler. I will soon be releasing my world famous water recipes with instructions on how to boil it to perfection.
For only 3 payments of $49.99 you will be well on your way to impressing everyone around you. Stay tuned. |
I went to baking school and passed with flying crullers:thumbsup
|
that's awesome but watch out cooking can lead to eating for joy. Food should be for fuel and only time to time for pleasure.
I eat eggs or oatmael in the morning. tuna or salmon in the afternoon chicken or beef fir din din :thumbsup I like to cook but every couple weeks I will get a little crazy. It's simple though, the more fat and butter the better |
I make a good chili
15 bean soup with ham Mexican Meatloaf this weekend, just use Salsa instead of catsup |

Wow, that looks amazing. Pretty much my idea of perfect food. To answer the question, yes I can cook pretty darn well. |
Coming from a big family, I have learned the art of looking in the fridge and putting together all sorts of dinners. The trick to learning how to cook, is not knowing the recipe and incorporating all kinds of different flavors. I love the experience!

Been watching Chopped on some food network. Four chefs get a basket of mystery stuff and have to make something out of it.
One was: Serrano Ham Fresh Pasta Sheets Membrillo Half Sour Pickles They had to make an appetizer out of this... When they got done it looked like something that should cost $120 a plate. |

I like Chopped too. Food porn while producing actual porn is a good combination for me too.

I love cooking, I've recently started taking classes even. I enjoy taking a meal from raw ingredients to an amazing presentation that tastes great, it's so much more rewarding than eating out.
|
I will follow up to say that I also watch Food Network while working...
...and it did not occur to me that people put butter in mashed potatoes :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
