So you're using GFY stuff in advertising to promote your own sites. Good move.

If you have no debt other than your house, it is really easy to live on >3k a month (depending on location). My family can survive on 2k a month. Of course thats no savings, going out, vacations ect.

I can get by on roughly $2500.00 a month. That includes mortgage (4BR/2BATH), truck, seadoo, student loans, food, all utilities, insurance, minimal entertainment (movies/dining out once a week). |
2 people, $6k a month.
Having no health insurance + a chronic disease eats up a chunk of that. |
200 a month for food?
shit i can eat 200 in like 4 days of just groceries |

New York-fucking-CITY people. NEW YORK CITY.
$4k a month, minimum. |
Love having no overhead. Internet $100, association fees $50, power $60, cell phone $20... Groceries we usually spend around $150-200/week on, depending what I'm cooking... that could go down if needed.

Your sites suck and all the chicks are extremely ugly DVTimes.
|
what could you live on or what kind of money do you need to make you happy?
|
minimum 4.5k

Good lord, we have school loan payments larger than some peoples total living costs each month. Not sure which end of sad that's on....

After reading some of these numbers I need to get the fuck out of the DC area.
...oh and cell phones... Our cell phone bill is $230 a month for two phones. Where the fuck are people getting cell phones for $20/mo.? This thread makes me feel like a slave to the dollar. I'm doing something wrong. |

for me after taxes can scrape by on $1600-$2000 but $2500+ is better |
Around $2,500. No car payment sure helps.

India
Maybe to move to India, I think dollar there means much more.

Our School loans aren't debt, they're investments of a different type. Unless you want to count stocks, bonds, etc as a debt because you don't have the money.. outside of killer interest rates, it's an ongoing investment that is paying off very well and growing. Let's be a little realistic too.. the total cost of living for many of those that are debt free in this post is lower than our monthly food bill, which kinda explains why they're able to live the life style they do. |
