I read the sheriff in that county is a real hard ass when it comes to drugs and he says he will press charges if there is evidence. He was a regular cop and apparently used the craze of Miami Vice to build an image of a tough guy anti drug guy an rose through the ranks. Even wearing flashy suits to try to emulate Don Johnson.
