My Second Successful Year In Adult, and What I've Learned
After my first full year in adult, I made a thread where I listed some choice tidbits about what I had learned. Now that I'm finishing up my second full year in adult, I'll list a few more things I've learned:
1) Someone is always making money, regardless of whether or not you're making money. There is always money to be made, there is always a market to sell to, and if you're not making that money, then someone else is. 2) Having dependable and honest friends and business associates is an absolute necessity. It's just too costly to try and work with people who are of questionable ethics and have a sordid history. You need to be able to depend on your friends, especially when the market is stretched thin as it is now. 3) Diversify your projects. The ability to rely on one revenue stream while another is under-performing is absolutely critical. If there are downs in adult, focus on the ups in mainstream. If there are down in designing, focus on the ups in programming. 4) Revshare is still the best. I have one revshare sponsor where I'm averaging $37.15 per signup and another where I'm averaging $88.39 per signup. You guys can keep your PPS. 5) Get it online now, and work out the kinks as you go. A pretty smart dude made me understand this one. Whatever your project is, get it online now, and work on it as you go or else it may lose momentum and it may not materialize at all. Here's to a third year! :thumbsup |
Congrats on the second year! All the best for the third :thumbsup
|
Fantastic - FANTASTIC - post! May the coming year be even better for you.

Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone! :thumbsup

Hey Sands, I've got to ask. Did you use the nick "Sands" in the "Tribes" multi-player game?
I'm just wondering because I used to play that game in college years ago and I remember a guy named "Sands" being in the clan I was in. |

You are a quick learner :) Great tips for everyone, not just new folks!

Congrats and Best Wishes.
I'd add a number six: Never stop learning and looking for new techniques, softwares, and opportunities. If you are not growing, you're dying. |
Right on, right on.. .

For someone who is also relatively new to adult, I must say this is an excellent post. Best of luck in the future, bro.

Btw: point 4: what sponsor is that? |
Great thread, man.
|
It's good to see that someone is evaluating their experiences and seeing how they can learn and adapt. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result can be slightly maddening.
#1 is especially poignant. While one person bitches and moans others scoop up the profits. Best of luck in the coming year. |

revshare rules for me too
|
Wow, thanks! I appreciate the support :)
As far as the sponsors in #4, I think I'll keep them to myself. :pimp |
I really need to take heed on number 5.
I've been working on some pretty amazing 3d stuff, and it only looks so great because I've been working on it for years. I'm setting up things so that I can produce high quality stuff very quickly. Problem is, I feel like I'll never finish it. It's time for me to get something out there, and perfect it later. |
nice review of your 2nd year :)
|
May next year supercede your success! Congrats
|
