We didn't have a formal appraisal, but our estimates are as follows. We estimate the low end is mid five figures, and the high end is low six figures. Coed is a very hot niche right now. You can possibly create a site like SoCalCoeds.com, NebraskaCoeds.com, etc..

What kind of revenue can such a site generate? Alot, but the specifics depend on the acquirer. Like all properties, it is most valuable at the highest and best use. A large company like Adult.com/ Playboy could have an easier time generating traffic for it, so it would be more valuable to a company like that. That's why the range in value.

I'm not being negative at all here, just giving an honest opinion: it's not worth 5 figures. In my opinion, I think it's worth hundreds, not even thousands. Maybe $500 to $1,000 at the most. Seriously.

WE should start a pool on how high it goes on eBay. My research suggests that eBay is the worst place to sell a domain and I will never understand why people post an item with a reserve of "X" and start the bids at 2.29. If you want 200,000.00 then start the fucking bids at 200k. Why waste your time and everyone elses time with a 2.29 cent starting bid.

My prediction is that this domain will not go over 600.00. My official prediction is 592.51.

...and. You should have posted the auction under an account with more than (10) positive feedback. I have 2259 positive and would gladly post the auction for you for 10 or 15 points. People will not bid very high when a seller has a feedback rating of 10.

I'm going to tell you what happened. Mind you this is 100% pulled out of my ass but who knows this could be it ;).

DHB saw the headlines of X domain selling for XXX million. He decided to get into the domain market and get him summa dat. He or someone he knows bought up shitloads of names when pulling some b/s like californiacoeds.com was a $20 registration fee. After accumulating hundreds or thousands of these domains he found a few suckers along the way that bought into the hype and wanted to get rich on domains. (Amway ring a bell) This reinforced the idea to him that his domains are worth 500 times the actual market price. I'm sure he's made some nice sales along the way, when you find that special buyer for that special name you can get some big bucks. You also post on GFY that you're selling a mediocre name that you estimate to be worth 5 to 6 figures. :1orglaugh

$305 is a damn good offer for that crap. You can register equally valuable names still today with a little digging.

Ebay estimates the top end at $305 so far. I have a hunch that with no shill bidding they will estimate it nowhere near even 4 figures.

I specialize in branding, and I have seen brandable names sell between $30,000 up to $110,000. Yes, all the way up there.

Actually, I know of one guy who sold a brandable name (without traffic) for $50,000 --but the acquirer would have paid, and had authorized, up to $250,000 to acquire it. The seller had no clue. The buyer wanted to sell a product by that name. The seller left $200,000 on the table.

So, you have willing buyers for such brandable names all the way up to $250,000. There are probably a lot more examples of even higher ones.

We believe that [CaliforniaCoeds.com] would make a great marketable site that would make hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit. That has value. That makes "mid five figures" look like a good buy.
