I don't find those pictures disgusting. I do find them morally reprehensible, but not disgusting. Also, personally, while I DO NOT condone psycologically traumatizing and humiliating prisoners, I also do not place it along the same lines of brutally torturing someone to death. :2 cents:

I don't consider lethal injection a torture in any stretch of the word. They push a button, the prisoner goes to sleep and doesn't wake up. Death doesn't get much more humane than that. Personally, I would like to see the punishment fit the crime.

I guess you are lucky if you are sentenced in Florida then. You get to CHOOSE between getting a lethal injection or being ELECTROCUTED. Whoohooo!

Yeah, I'll give ya that; the "chair" is a different story. But let me ask you a question: If you had a choice between the Death Penalty (lethal injection) or life without parole, which would you choose?

Authorized Methods of Execution by State
Alabama Effective 7/1/02, lethal injection will be administered unless the inmate requests electrocution.
Arizona Authorizes lethal injection for persons sentenced after 11/15/92; those sentenced before that date may select lethal injection or lethal gas.
Arkansas Authorizes lethal injection for persons committing a capital offense after 7/4/83; those who committed the offense before that date may select lethal injection or electrocution.
California Provides that lethal injection be administered unless the inmate requests lethal gas.
Colorado Lethal injection is the sole method.
Connecticut Lethal injection is the sole method.
Delaware Lethal Injection is the sole method. Hanging was an alternative for those whose offense occurred prior to 6/13/86, but as of July 2003 no inmates on death row were elligible to choose this alternative and Delaware dismantled its gallows.
Florida Allows prisoners to choose between lethal injection and electrocution
Georgia Lethal injection is the sole method. (On October 5, 2001, the Georgia Supreme Court held that the electric chair was cruel and unusual punishment and struck down the state's use of the method)
Idaho Authorizes firing squad only if lethal injection is "impractical".
Illinois Lethal injection is the state's method. However, it authorizes electrocution if lethal injection is ever held to be unconstitutional.
Indiana Lethal injection is the sole method.
Kansas Lethal injection is the sole method.
Kentucky Authorizes lethal injection for those convicted after March 31, 1998; those who committed the offense before that date may select lethal injection or electrocution
Louisiana Lethal injection is the sole method.
Maryland Authorizes lethal injection for those whose capital offenses occurred on or after 3/25/94; those who committed the offense before that date may select lethal injection or lethal gas.
Mississippi Lethal injection is the sole method.
Missouri Authorizes lethal injection or lethal gas; the statute leaves unclear who decides what method to use, the inmate or the Director of the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Montana Lethal injection is the sole method.
Nebraska Electrocution is the sole method.
Nevada Lethal injection is the sole method.
New Hampshire Authorizes hanging only if lethal injection cannot be given.
New Jersey Lethal injection is the sole method.
New Mexico Lethal injection is the sole method.
New York Lethal injection is the sole method.
North Carolina Lethal injection is the sole method.
Ohio Lethal injection is the sole method.
Oklahoma Authorizes electrocution if lethal injection is ever held to be unconstitutional and firing squad if both lethal injection and electrocution are held unconstitutional.
Oregon Lethal injection is the sole method.
Pennsylvania Lethal injection is the sole method.
South Carolina Allows prisoners to choose between lethal injection and electrocution
South Dakota Lethal injection is the sole method.
Tennessee Authorizes lethal injection for those sentenced after Jan. 1, 1999; others choose between the electric chair and lethal injection.
Texas Lethal injection is the sole method.
Utah Lethal Injection is the sole method of execution. Firing squad was chosen by some inmates prior to the passage of legislation banning the practice, and is only available for those inmates.
Virginia Allows prisoners to choose between lethal injection and electrocution
Washington Provides that lethal injection be administered unless the inmate requests hanging.
Wyoming Authorizes lethal gas if lethal injection is ever held to be unconstitutional.
U.S. Military Lethal injection is the sole method
U.S. Government The method of execution of Federal prisoners for offenses under the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 is that of the state in which the conviction took place, pursuant to 18 USC 3596. If the state has no death penalty, the judge may chose the method of another state. For offenses under the 1988 Drug Kingpin Law, the method of executions is lethal injection, pursuant to 28 CFR, Part 26.

No, it doesn't make it ok (or even forgiveable in my opinion). The point behind it is exactly the point you made in your second comment, this is EXTREMELY tame compared to what goes on everyday all over the world.

Summary: If you're planning on killing someone, don't do it in Nebraska.

The late U.S. Supreme Court Justice, William Brennan, Jr., described electrocutions in his dissent in Glass v. Louisiana (1985):
"Th[e] evidence suggests that death by electrical current is extremely violent and inflicts pain and indignities far beyond the 'mere extinguishment of life.' Witnesses routinely report that, when the switch is thrown, the condemned prisoner 'cringes,' 'leaps,' and 'fights the straps with amazing strength.' 'The hands turn red, then white, and the cords of the neck stand out like steel bands.' The prisoner's limbs, fingers, toes, and face are severely contorted. The force of the electrical current is so powerful that the prisoner's eyeballs sometimes pop out and 'rest on [his] cheeks.' The prisoner often defecates, urinates, and vomits blood and drool."

Brennan questioned whether electrocutions were "nothing less than the contemporary technological equivalent of burning people at the stake."

Oh well, who cares about them anyways?

Pull out their tongues and cut them off with scissors.

Burn their brains and balls with electrical wires.

Beat them until raw flesh broke through with tire cords.

Made handcuffed prisoners jump off 3 story buildings.

Put people in cages full of hungry guard dogs and lions.

Drop people head first into barrels of sulfuric acid.

Cut off hands, fingers, ears, and legs with chainsaws.

Ripped off peoples finger nails and toenails.

Gang raped young girls in front of their families.

Tortured children in front of their parents and vice versa.

Gang raped wives in front of their husbands.

Stuck dynamite sticks into anuses and lit the fuses.

Buried people alive.

Used blow torches on backs, feet and faces.

Saturated prisoners with water and then placed them in freezer rooms to become human ice pops.

Beat people with iron rods and baseball bats.

Strap people naked to metal frames and then turn the frame red hot.

Used irons on people.

Made people eat moldy food out of toilets with feces.

And who knows what else.

So yeh what the CIA and military did is bad too, and heads need to roll, but compared to what used to go on in Iraq, its night and day.

Ok, I don't know how to explain this without sounding like an asshole but it's late and I'm tired of trying to be professional and unoffensive. The folowing is my own personal opinion and does not reflect the ideals of EdgeFX Studios or AdultGoldVault whatsoever. Bottom line:

Who the hell cares? If that's the worst thing that ever happens to these fuckers then I would consider them lucky. Do I condone what the soldiers did to these men? NO! In fact, as a former US Marine, it down right pisses me off because it reflects poorly on our troops and our country. Do these photos shock me? Hell no; watch someone get butchered alive and then see if pics like that shock you. I am tired of people making such a big fucking deal about pissant shit like this just so they can be Anti-Bush, Anti-war, or Anti-US. Yeah, it sucks that we're still over there and I would love to see this whole thing end and everyone come home safely, but sometimes things don't happen the way that you want them to. The last thing these troops need is to hear a bunch of negativity against them or their country.

To me, it's a lot more humane than the alternative. Why would anyone ever want to be locked up in a cage with a bunch of criminals and psychopaths for the rest of their life?
