Should California kill Tookie Williams?
He was found guilty and sentenanced to death for murder. Now he says he is redeemed and a new man.
Should California give him a pass or make him pay for his crimes? |
didnt he get a nobel prize for peace?
|
Apologies don't bring back lives taken and they don't un-do crimes.
|
btw, they should let him live.
legal murder is bad news |

I'm anti death penalty.
The US government very rarely gets shit right, so for them to be allowed to put people to death is kind of scary. |
If we become a theocracy, I'm sure "adult entertainment" executives would be on the short list....
|
smoke him
|
Isn't Saddam on trial for torturing prisoners?
but, the united states executes prisoners??? |
let him live for many reasons
|
I wish we had a great big island where we could just dump all these criminal clowns.
What a waste of taxpayer's money. I'm not a proponent of the death sentence, because it seems to hypocritcal to kill someone for killing someone. I think living your life in jail is a harsher sentence. But the thought that the taxpayers have to pickup up the tab also irks me. So I say lets find a big island in the middle of nowhere and just dump them all there and let them figure out how to survive on their own cave man style. |

There is a little difference between tortuing someone because they lost a soccer game, and executing someone for murdering multiple people in cold blood. |
Catalina, maybe?? Rugged and not too much fresh water.

They should use them for spare parts and experimentation. |
instead of the death penalty, i think we should build prisons that are just rows upon rows of 4x4 boxes with steel doors and locks and put murderers, rapists and child molestors in them....feed them twice a day and let them sit in those boxes for the rest of their lives, no light, no contact, no love

No, he didnt he get a nobel prize for peace!
He did shoot Albert Owens Tsai-Shai Yang and Ye-Chen Lin |

Point spread on riots?

Tookie was stuck on drugs, PCP, from LA's darkest sides.
He was 29 yrs old when convicted. He commited the crimes under the heavy influence of drugs emm PCP to be exact. He reformed his life inside jail, where at least he was able to eat and get himself together. Since then he has written books, been awarded for his help in fighting gang violence. There is no way he is the same man that murdered the people inside 7-11. I think he should be allowed to live if he wants to, why he would I dunno but I do know he has helped saved the lives of countless gang members in LA and who knows how many murders through his influence never happened. Who knows how many more lives he can save by being alive? |

We can let him move in with you then. |

Thats pretty good, but not productive enough... Theres always more victims than guilty perps right so i think the best idea is to assign ownership of guilty people to the victims. So if some guy raped a girl , and he got 5 years , thats how long the victim gets to own the prisoner for.. They can do whatever they want with the prisoner they own for 5 years ( except kill them ) One thing is clear ,Killing is wrong. Nobody should ever kill anybody.. doesnt serve any purpose. If nothing else , put them to work. |

I would have stolen beer as well in New Orleans:)
I think most people in New Orleans needed a beer after Katrina. That dude prolly had a great time. |
So, I see. Its ok to rob and kill people because if they catch you you can "reform" in jail and then you should be set free because you have changed your ways?

Maybe one of the four people he killed could have saved more people.. Who is more likely to save people's lives ? A) convicted killers B) innocent people killed by ruthless killers I dont think anyone should be killed , but they shouldn't even let scum like this speak to people. He should be locked in a box. |

Prison is the last hope that someone will reform themselves. Tookie is not a threat and during his time he has most likely saved hundreds maybe thousands of lives through his writtings. |

I didnt know he was convicted of stealing anything ? maybe he bought those beer and was taking them home.. how racist of you sir :winkwink: |
No one is sane on PCP.
Tookie was completely insane when he or IF he did it obviously. He had nothing to loose in a life that was the worse of worse. Its actually amazing that cops managed to capture em alive considering the state of mind he was in when the crimes occured. |

he may have been on drugs most of the time but i heard him say himself he shot innocent people. point blank.. if he was "insane" he wouldn't know what he had done.. I wont argue the legal definition , but needless to say if you know what your doing is wrong the you should be culpible , and he knew what he was doing was wrong.. |
