If the DOJ / FBI / IRS is reading this. This is how you get rid of

some of the biggest guys in porn.

There is a thing called shaving.

Shaving is when you send hard earned traffic to a sponsor and they through the use of their affiliate tracking script skim sales from you.

Usually it's a %.

We as webmasters just accept it now as a cost of doing business, much like the prison bitch just accepts getting traded in the yard for a pack of Lucky Strikes.

Over the years you have attempted fighting porn and it's proliferation across the net. I have your answer.

Look into the shaving.

Quit trying to get these guys on obscenity. Community standards have changed from some to none so GO AFTER THE MONEY!

How?

1. You could infiltrate some of the bigger companies by approaching one of their programmers, affiliate reps. Offer to cut him / her a deal that would keep them out of jail or losing valuable posessions when you guys slam them with RICO.

2. This may be entrapment. But develop your own software to sell to these companies with the newest, latest shaving devices.

3. Start your own affiliate program and get wined and dined by companies offering their affiliate management software, a few $'s a nod and a wink and you'll be in like Flynn. They will set you up with the extra special version that everyone else claims they don't have.

That's it.

I can't do all of the work for you. You have to do some of it on your own.

Good luck. And if you need anymore ideas, or how about a general direction to point you in. Hit me up on ICQ.

Actually, if they really wanted to crack down, it's easier.... they can lean on the FTC to

Require mandatory client consent or notification for rebills.

Of course, this will go under the slogan of "protecting consumers" :helpme

tony286 08-25-2005 09:55 PM

first why do you all give it such a nice name Shaving. Call it for what it is Stealing but on the other hand . Affiliates want:
free hosted galleries
outragious commissions $1 trial $40 comm
higher percentage of the join for life of join
big prizes ,trips
Plus their dick sucked at conventions, dinners, parties, hot models running around plus freebie gifts.
The numbers dont work folks when you add everything in.

It's actually a decent bit of board promotions--use a provocative title, focus on an emotional trigger, get the click, layout a plausible situation. Zero in on a topic that won't blowback on your sponsor. In this case, shaving... by focusing attention on a perceived industry problem, the sponsor in the sig is read to be above that problem. Nice technique and crafty allocation of basic drama elements.

Definitely better than the more amorphous but highly dramatic posts that focus on ethnic/religious/racial/personality issues that have a high chance of backfiring. Sure this posting technique generates a lot of noise but a lot of it may be negative and self-damaging.

It's a good post if you look it at from a certain angle :thumbsup

Perhaps, but not all of us ask for that shit, so don't charge us all.

The only hole in your theory Eros is that shaving is only percieved to happen. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh It's a myth created by untalented webmasters to make themselves feel better about poor ratio's and lack of sales. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh I am sure that everyone has their books in order and can account for the money generated from every signup and it will reconcile perfectly with their join numbers. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

But if someone were shaving, this would be the way to shut that shit down.

Your right im sorry ,I shouldnt of made a generalization but if a program opened tomorrow with no hosted galleries ,chances are they would die on the vine.

Chances are??? tony404 you are being much to optomistic.

If they don't have FHG's , and free hosting and offer at least 35 per sign up or at LEAST 60% they will sit and spin. and don't forget to pay the hype machine. 15k board skins and monthy sig expenses. NO SHOT at all.

But this is actually the fault of the offending companies. I've seen it with my own two eyes.

You can offer w/m's 25.00 pps or you can offer them 40.00 pps.

@ 25.00 pps they can convert at 1:400
@ 40.00 pps they can convert at 1:750

And 99% will choose the 40.00 PPS because company A pays more PPS.
They are retarded and live in a dream world where 1+1=5 and a free Xbox.

Retarded the whole bunch.

don't know if its serious or not but i wouldn't shed a tear if programs that really shaved were gone. it would force some honesty in this business.

Didn't they try to do that with MPA?

sltr 08-25-2005 10:28 PM

how does shaving fall under RICO?

My top performing program doesn't have hosted galleries or free content. Weee!

Tony you don't have affiliates, do you? Awful strong opinions when you don't even have affiliates to base them off of.

Research RICO. It falls under organized crime which a company shaving would as well.

There would be a conspiracy to defraud, whatever. It's not up to me to figure out the charges..it's up to them. ;)

Also:
Quote:

In the 1980's, however, civil lawyers noticed section 1964(c) of the RICO Act, which allows civil claims to be brought by any person injured in their business or property by reason of a RICO violation. Any person who succeeded in establishing a civil RICO claim would automatically receive judgment in the amount of three times their actual damages and would be awarded their costs and attorneys' fees.
So what does that mean for webmasters?

If you can prove it in court you got some bling coming to you. ;)

yeah, i prefer to promote sponsors who don't offer all that shit. i miss the old days when it was get your own content or get the fuck out. not that i don't like free content, i do because it matches the site im pushing but everyone is so fucking lazy these days, they don't even want to make simple webpages.

TheDoc 08-25-2005 10:37 PM

It wouldn't be that hard to catch programs shaving. It would take 10 to 20 webmasters to work together.. Send some real traffic but not a lot, just enough to have some clicks and maybe a few real joins.. Then, each day, at a set time, a webmaster pulls out a CC and purchases a membership. A mixture of trials, full months, and a few 3 months.. Spread it out over a few weeks so no alarms go off.

When a sale doesn?t show, game is over..

You could even send the check back and tell the sponsor the passed the shave test..

No rebills wouldn't kill the industry like people think it would, affiliates would probably feel it more than program owners with quality sites..

This post was a bad idea. Why ASK the government to fuck with us? One day this guy is posting about meatloaf sammiches and the next he is trying to bring heat on the industry. Not too bright :disgust
