Anyone else over 20 slightly disturbed by Bobby Brown songs being covered

Ms. Spears is on my tv doing My Perogetive at the moment...something not right about that song EVER being covered by anyone in any serious manner.

oh feck the next song is some new club version of Hungry Eyes...this industry is dead.

bjjb 10-05-2004 05:49 AM

What scares me more is that songs I rocked to in High school (early 80's) are now in the mix on "classic rock" stations :helpme

Tipsy 10-05-2004 05:52 AM

It's been a sad trend for a few years though - classics getting badly covered and hitting the charts. You sit there and wonder why the hell they bothered especially when the 'new' version sounds so similar (but never quite as good) as the original.

The worst cover I've heard in recent years was the dance type remix of a Floyd track. That was just scary.

Sarah_Jayne 10-05-2004 06:01 AM

yeah but it has reached the point where songs that sucked the first time are being covered

chase 10-05-2004 06:28 AM

"yeah but it has reached the point where songs that sucked the first time are being covered"

Well, i can't say Bobby Brown is an icon of our youth, lol, so, yeah, I'd say so, lol

mardigras 10-05-2004 06:44 AM

I closed the door on mainstream music years ago. My car radio seldom leaves the AM news/talk stations.

mindoza 10-05-2004 06:54 AM

I heard that loser BB has a new reality show coming out.

Britney sounds awful in that song. her voice sounds squeaky.

PetMyKitty 10-05-2004 07:50 AM

i was in love with bobby brown when i was 15

Rinaldo 10-05-2004 07:52 AM

She just needs to admit to the tit job and then go about her shitty life and die already

sherie 10-05-2004 07:55 AM

Something else I find more disturbing, is the cover of Cameo's song by Korn - 'word up' C'mawwwwwn.

I think Brit's doing it cuz of the whole getting married and shit, the title of the song is only fitting, still no excuse tho...has she written any of her music?

Squeaky - isn't that how she sounds in most of her songs?

naughty_weena 10-05-2004 08:04 AM

LOL! you're right! she sounds squeaky in all of her songs... :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

JUSTB 10-05-2004 08:08 AM

Britney is soooooooooo awful!!! Bobby must be happy to be making money again though.

Korn have just covered 'another brick in the wall' :(

Skillz Unlimited 10-05-2004 05:23 PM

I think people are missing the point of why she did the song. She did not do it cause she's running out of fresh ideas (she's got a team around her , that will never happen). She did it to give a message.......GET OUT OF MY FUCKING BUSINESS AND LEAVE ME ALONE, IT'S MY PEROGATIVE. That's the point of the song. I think it's dope that she did it and i feel her frustration. When you're a celebrity your life is a fish bowl and every little detail is blown up 10 times bigger than it is. It kinda sucks. Then people say - "oh well you knew that was gonna happen when you got into the industry". This may be true but that does not make it right. Not to mention if music is what you love to do and it's all you know - you're kinda stuck. Then they say "oh well she has money that should make it better"...No amount of money can make up for youe piece of mind. You can be Bill Gates rich, but if you're on the verge of going crazy it does not matter. Cut Britney some slack people, she's just a normal human being trying to make it thru life just like the rest of us. No one is perfect and we all do dumb shit sometimes, it's just that no one has a bull horn announcing our mess-ups to the world.

hova 10-05-2004 05:26 PM

There is no stopping to the bastards that make covers..........

Ouch. Now...do I seek it out just to confirm to myself that it really is awful or do I give it a miss because it's almost sacrilege...

Are you fucking serious?

As soon as I saw Fred Durst, I said, I'm going to be the one who has to kill him.

The "I dont recommend anything in my signature" tag is nice. Very funny. I'm not here to spam or try to send you guys to some business venture of mine. I do buy and sell traffic but i'm here because this place is interesting. Once there was "i wandered here by accident" or something along those lines next to my name. Thats a negative also, i've known about this board for some years now. I just recently decided to jump in and add my 2 cents here and there. Maybe i'm to out spoken, sometimes my opinion may not be warranted but i see some really crazy things in here some times so I say what i think. As long as the moderator is having fun changing the tag under my name, i guess that's all that counts right.

It's the same for everyone, it changes automatically as your post count changes. And, WTF? What a weird post to bump a day old thread about music with. :helpme

Irrum 10-06-2004 04:33 PM

I hate recycled music, especially music that sucked the first time it came out

If you're that confused it seems your 'Skillz' are very limited.

Other than that what Rich said.

Very true. He stalks me. Every time I peek out of my window I can see him lurking in the bushes with that big, thrusting camera of his.

I recently saw a documentary on them.
One of the guys was so ashamed that he had tried to commit suicide.
:(
Sad thing that the real Milli Vanilli voices never became famous.

I was going to ask if you knew what became of the real singers. Suicide is a bit strong. I'd simply go live in a cave in a remote part of the world and shun all human contact were that me.

okay

#1 the song sucked balls the first time around

#2 she deserved to have her vocal chords ripped out when she covered I Love Rock and Roll (which I know was a cover in the first place).

#4 Please, she needs the press like puppy needs its shots.

#3 Do you run her fan club?
