When you die will you donate your organs?

Its a pretty big thing over here right now. I dunno if I would. If I could help someone after my death then I suppose its worth it.

Will you?

Sly_RJ 02-09-2004 05:22 PM

Absolutely. The hell am I going to do with my liver when I'm dead?

Fu-Q 02-09-2004 05:23 PM

most of my organs probably wont be any good, but if they can use em, sure

Very true. You get a lot of people who won't.

Very surprising. Just knowing I will help someone when I die would be a nice feeling.

Oracle Porn 02-09-2004 05:23 PM

fuck no....

everyone had their own... its their problem they fucked them up.

Holly 02-09-2004 05:23 PM

Yep. Got it filled out on my DL, and my family knows I want to.

Thats pretty nasty. What if one day you needed a lung or a liver transplant. Would you be banking on someone thinking like me? Or someone thinking like you?

I know what I would pray would be the answer.

sworld 02-09-2004 05:24 PM

just can't do it. i want to be cremated.

Head 02-09-2004 05:25 PM

I want to but i just never filled the paper work out yet.

swedguy 02-09-2004 05:25 PM

When I pass away, I have no use for my organs any more. Hopefully someone else will :)

Cremated or buried makes no difference. They take them out you soon after you die to keep them as fresh as possible...

Hexor 02-09-2004 05:26 PM

Yes I will.

Ic3m4nZ 02-09-2004 05:27 PM

No because I'll come back to life

Rorschach 02-09-2004 05:28 PM

Yeah I'm donor.

It seems like one last contribution you can make, even though you're dead.

Sosa 02-09-2004 05:29 PM

Yep I'm a registered organ donor when I die.

Froey Twe 02-09-2004 05:30 PM

You have a nice attitude towards life.

I am not registered yet but I most likely will. I won't say soon coz I know it won't be but I will get round to it.

:thumbsup

SexxxyChat-T 02-09-2004 06:12 PM

I am a registered organ donor.

The main reason people don't donate is becuase they buy into the urban legend of people getting their organs donated before they are really dead.

Jace 02-09-2004 06:14 PM

hell yeah i am going too...

after your dead you don't need it anymore anyway...why not let someone else use it?

i can't guarantee the condition of the good shit though, i know by that time my liver will be shot....certain drug and alcohol combinations have fucked that years ago

lurking 02-09-2004 06:14 PM

take all my organs and burn my body. thank you.

TweetyBird 02-09-2004 06:24 PM

never really thought about it, but yes I think so

SleazyDream 02-09-2004 06:36 PM

i always sign the back of my drivers licence - organ transplant only. no medial training allowed. I'm no cadavor.

Babagirls 02-09-2004 06:40 PM

im not an organ donor. ive thought about this subject for a few years now and still cant make a valid decision.

i have certain beliefs & thoughts on the subject. One of them is "I wanna leave the world with what I had comin in to it."

and the thought of somebody else having an organ of mine is too weird for me. BUT at the same time, I am good hearted person and think that maybe I can give a couple of people a second chance at life.

Then on the other hand, what if god intend that person to be born and/or have a problem that the person has. And then me trying to be a nice person, give an organ to that person and then thats fuckin up gods plans.

So, im still up and down...but techically right now, I am not an organ donor. We'll see what happens in the future though. :2 cents:

invertiga 02-09-2004 06:55 PM

i'll need my organs with me in my tomb to live in the afterlife under the great pyramid that is being constructed for me

the body i am in now is just a shell. nothing more, nothing less....

so, why not benefit others with something that you will never need nor see again.

Pretty controversial Issue....
I didn't fill any papers yet....But I might do it in the future...don't know yet.....

The problems with this , is that since nobody knows what comes after death , many people are scared of it ,or has religious/soul toughts about it..
Does anybody knows if the catolic church said something special about it ?

Well..Just asking coz many people follow their rules..
Not all of them might be correct (in my opinion) like Use of condoms , etc but wel....still people follow thier rules

sixxxth_sense 02-09-2004 07:17 PM

whatever's left of them...

who wants them anyways, they r bad?

Floridiot 02-09-2004 07:17 PM

I dont think my liver or lungs will be any good and my heart and splean will probably be shot but as long as any other organs other then that will be good sure

sinmaster 02-09-2004 07:26 PM

I recently had my father pass away and he had been a registered donor.
I was contacted by the local eye bank and asked if I would mind if I was contacted by the person who recieved the gift of sight due to my fathers donation. I accepted of course.
Let me tell you it feels really nice to hear the gratitude and thankfulness these people have for what they have recieved.
He even offered to help pay the bills dad left behind for me, I felt like an ass even considering it, I turned him down with a big thanks but no thanks.
I am a donor and always will be.

NoCarrier 02-09-2004 07:28 PM

It should be the other way around like in some countries where you have to sign the card if you don't want to be a donor.

the Shemp 02-09-2004 07:56 PM

There is a real shortage of bone marrow/blood cell donors around the world. Almost 70% of the patients that need a transplant cant find a suitable donor.

You dont have to die to donate bone marrow, its a very safe procedure, you will be back at work in a day or two.

Three years ago, i found a suitable donor in Germany, his bone marrow saved my me from the sure death of Leukemia.

Please visit http://www.marrow.org/ for some additional info :)

DWB 02-09-2004 08:54 PM

dont see why not. we are all (everyone on earth) going to hell anyway.

Than I'm fucked.... bummer what can I say.

Major (Tom) 02-09-2004 10:11 PM

i would just be worried that doctors may not be as eager to save you being that you're an organ donor. Like say a 15 year old needs a liver, and you are older person with a bad heart and probally only have 5 years left tops, but are on the table during heart surgery. All of a sudden there are complications and you are being recesitated. Now your tissue matches the tissue of the 15 year old. Don't you think it may pass through the doctors mind that you're a donor, and your tissues match, and your 65, he/she is 15 and has their whole life ahead of them? Just maybe wouldnt they give up recesitating you a little sooner being that you are a donor to save the other person? That's my only fear of being a donor

Forgive me if this sounds cold, but I have no plans to donate any of my organs unless there was some financial benefit for my heirs.

If there was enough there to cover ones final expenses, donations to charities, or open a small trust for their family, I would bet we wouldn't have the shortage of organs there are today.

Another option is a market based economy on organs, and market prices would be paid to the donor's family, 12 year old Bobby would surely be worth more than say 52 year old Sy.
