Any Pink Floyd fans?

What's your favourite album by them?

Mine is "Wish you were here"... :thumbsup

dirtyone 08-21-2003 06:24 PM

Dark Side of the Moon...

Wish I could have seen them in concert just once.

:glugglug

SuperVillain 08-21-2003 06:25 PM

They all rock!

Evil Chris 08-21-2003 06:25 PM

I've seen them twice. Once with Roger Waters, and once without. Both shows were outstanding.

pr0 08-21-2003 06:25 PM

the lunatic is in my head

Amputate Your Head 08-21-2003 06:25 PM

sweetums 08-21-2003 06:26 PM

1973. And it stayed on Billboard's hot 100 album chart until 1988 or something crazy like that.

Mojo Rizin 08-21-2003 06:27 PM

Favorite Floyd album would be ... Animals

Favorite Roger Waters.. Pros and Cons of Hitchiking

MattO 08-21-2003 06:28 PM

Their live in Pompeii movie is awesome

Of course, The Wall is an album unto itself. Pure greatness.

I think my 2nd most fave would be "Meddle". When Floyd played Olympic Stadium in 1988, they actually opened their show with "Echoes"... that song is over 23 minutes long!

Your right that is AWESOME..

I love watching gilmour playing guitar on his lap, almost steel guitar style.

My favorite quote from that.. Roger Waters "we are not a drug orieanted band" as he peers through slits for eyes

I used to have to listen to The Wall in headphones when it came out every night as I fell asleep. I am still not quite sure what effect that has had on me. lol

Mojo Rizin 08-21-2003 06:34 PM

I take my favorite back... now I think about it I would say "The Final Cut" is my favorite

drunkmonkey 08-21-2003 06:39 PM

The Wall

second place - wish you were here

I liked Waters "Radio KAOS"

The powers that be
They like a tough game
No rules
Some you win, some you lose
Competition's good for you
They're dying to be free
They're the powers that be
They like a bomb proof cadillac
Air conditioned, gold taps
Back seat gun rack, platinum hub caps
They pick horses for courses
They're the market forces
Nice car Jack
They like order, make-up, lime light power
game shows, rodeos, star wars, TV
They're the powers that be
If you see them come
You better run - run
You better run on home

Best guitar solo: Mother

Wierdest song: Careful With That Axe, Eugene

Favorite song: Welcome to the Machine

Yeah, I like Pink Floyd
:thumbsup

You won't get your pudding if you don't eat your meat.

How can you get pudding if you don't eat your meat? :1orglaugh

Well...there are so many different Floyds...Syd Barrett's Floyd and Roger Waters' Floyd....kind of like Black Sabbath

but "Wish you were here" is very cool...I heard they laid down each note separate in the studio on those songs.

Oh...and, by the way, which one is Pink?

Mojo Rizin 08-21-2003 06:44 PM

syd

great group, both original and later

hudson 08-21-2003 06:47 PM

kind of like joy division/new order...new order is fun and all, but joy division had the punch...

but, "wish you were here" is a great album...I agree to that

Missy 08-21-2003 06:48 PM

Meddle
Saucerful of Secrets
Obscured by Clouds

The Wall used to be one of my favorites, but I think I got burned out on it. The only album I don't really like is Division Bell.

[Labret] 08-21-2003 06:49 PM

the most over rated band in history next to Led Zep.

Zebra 08-21-2003 06:50 PM

One of these days.. I'm going to cut you into little pieces :eyecrazy

Loryn 08-21-2003 06:51 PM

Love them! Favorite album, Dark Side of the Moon. I just got the tape "Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii" made me love them even more.

Mr. Jim 08-21-2003 06:54 PM

Best Billboard i ever saw was when they showed Floyd the Barber from Andy Griffith and the entire thing was pink.

It said nothing just a date....it took me a minute to realize it meant pink floyd and the date was when they were to play....genius

the thought popped into my head as I was posting that "wish you were here" was about vietnam...I never did get that, but calling someone pink would relate to that cold war thing

all these over the top in sales bands turn into cartoon characters of what they once were...what about the Clash?

or Iggy talking about how he loves housecleaning in interviews, for that matter ;-)

Doctor Dre 08-21-2003 07:01 PM

I hate pinkfloyd ... no offences

I have seen them a few years ago in Montreal :thumbsup

I love too many of their albums to choose a favorite one...

snowpimp 08-21-2003 07:11 PM

I really liked their live album: "Delicate Sound of Thunder".
Closely followed by "The Wall".

LadyMischief 08-21-2003 07:15 PM

I liked the live album "Pulse", but I enjoyed the Division Bell as well, actually I like something of all of their albums, really.

when I was a kid, someone spray painted "welcome to the machine" in black across the high school entrance...and it stayed like that for years ;-)

the Italian guys in the hood were big on the Wall....kind of like what Micheal Jackson was to Times Square...
