Black widow

Before i go on a spider killing spree in my house... can anyone tell me why I should not kill spiders and what thier purposes in the ecological circle is?

I have been harboring a black widow in my computer room for a few months and cant quite seem to want to kill it yet. I have so many species around my house....the only poisonous one is the Black widow so far.

mjrools23 07-25-2003 08:23 AM

take some pix of the black widow

snipah7 07-25-2003 08:24 AM

for every spider in your house that you kill you let 100 other bugs live(in your house).(with you)...(little ones that get in your nose and ears and mouth.

in conclusion:
spiders are good.

C_U_Next_Tuesday 07-25-2003 08:24 AM

If i can get her to come out from under my ac unit... let me get my cam and try..

snipah7 07-25-2003 08:24 AM

and nose...

i'd rather have the 100 other little bugs than the spider

Fletch XXX 07-25-2003 08:28 AM

I let spiders live here.

Not Black Widows though, very common here but fuck that.

They make more ;)

Other spiiders sure, I have a few that hang out in my spare bathroom, the door is usually closed and its dark in there during the summer I used to notice a few ants arou8nd the pad, but not so much this year, I think my spider friends have taken care of me.

;)

I dont mind bugs or spiders... they all have their purpose.. only cockroaches and I dont have those..whew! I only worry about having a poisonous spider around for my kids sake.. hubby has already been bit and he was sick as a dog for days.

she has crawled back behind the AC unit and wont let me take a pic of her.. i will have to use the element of suprise.. like the camcorder in the dark with nighvision..lol

cherrylula 07-25-2003 08:28 AM

We had some mystery ants in one of the bathrooms, drove me nuts trying to get rid of them... then those long leg spiders showed up and started taking them out.

There are always 2-3 of them that come and go now, but they mostly disappear in the daytime. Much better than packs of ants by far.

oh yeah, but fuck poisonous insects for sure...kill it!

B_Maverick 07-25-2003 08:29 AM

set off a bug bomb in the room and close the door for eight hours...that will get the fucker. Of course...then wipe down everything in the room to clean up the residue.

webair 07-25-2003 08:29 AM

they kill bugs bro

Kimmykim 07-25-2003 08:29 AM

Found a black widow here on July 4th, and we did kill it. Had a tarantula the size of a dinner plate outside last year and we had to chase it off, since it just wouldn't leave.

I don't kill scorpions tho when I see them... catch them and send them back outside to do their jobs.

snipah7 07-25-2003 08:30 AM

that's your call but if there are all those other bugs then there will be all kinds of birds hanging around your house...

then the cats will come in and take over...

then you will have to get a bear cuz olny thing that eats a cat is a bear...
then elephant , then bazzoka, then hulk, then nuke, then everyone is dead...

don't kill the spider man..

I don't wanna die yet.

Pipecrew 07-25-2003 08:31 AM

I would move if I ever saw a spider bigger then a quarter anywhere within a mile of me.

dnsmonster 07-25-2003 08:31 AM

Black widows make good pets, for real. Catch it and put it in a jar. This way you keep it alive yet always know where it's at.

LeeNoga 07-25-2003 08:32 AM

I got black widows here in Fla in the pool screen area, they lay those pointy white eggs under the aluminum beams, any raid killer spray for spiders will do the trick.

If you kill mama, a ton of babies go running off her body everywhere.

i used to live in Texas and we would capture the scorpions in the house and keep them in a jar....till we found out that fire ants are the scorpions only natural enemy (besides man)...then we started scooping up fire ants in the same jars as the scorpions and watching the battle begin. I lived in a housefull of females at the time..so there was no letting the scoprions back out. every time we had to put on boots or clothes..we shook them out.. everytime we had to go to bed..we had to shake the blankets out and tear them off the bed.. i never made my bed..fuck it. I lived in a cabin and the walls were the same color of the scorpians..they would drop off the ceiling and land right near you..andyou had to find them fast or they would blend in somewhere..lol

this beauty is big.. and i dont want babies everywhere...thats for sure.

I guess i am fascinated by them cause they kill their mate after they have served their purpose...... just my bit of evil side in me:1orglaugh

Kimmykim 07-25-2003 08:37 AM

Get a few of these, they take out everything in their path.

http://www.pharmacy.arizona.edu/images/scorpion.jpg

It's also good to have king snakes around if you have rattlesnakes.

havent seen one of them since i left texas..cute little boogers..lol

i havent seen any snakes here either... used to have copper heads, rattlers, and water moccasins on my property...copperheads are so small and look so innocent.. i had no idea i had picked one up and was bringing it home as a pet till my b/f at the time whipped out the gun and shot the poor thing..lol

he had a severe fear of snakes... didnt help that i owned "ruby' the 9 foot bull snake...hehe..he would check her cage everynight and make sure it was secure (i used to let her run loose in my room at night while i slept)

She was cleaning the house all day jamming Alice Cooper Goes To Hell 8 track and Destroyer, I rmember her playing Kiss mostly because I was born in 76, thats when Destroyer and Rock and Roll all Nite came out, she played them for yeeears.

Embedded that shit in me.

I know a thing or two about her
I know she'll only make you cry
She'll let you walk the street beside her
But when she wants she'll pass you by
Ev'rybody said she's lookin' good
And the lady knows it's understood
Strutter!
Strutter!
Strutter!

She wears her satin like a lady
She gets her way just like a child
You take her home and she says "maybe, baby"
She takes you down and drives you wild

Ev'rybody said she's lookin' good
And the lady knows it's understood'

I was 2

you ladies know Paul, gene, and Ace had your penties wet.

hahaha

i was 10 in '76..by that time i had been to several outdoor concerts , been to many a crazy biker bash...seen lots of evil doing..

I'm glad my parents didnt try to sheild me from different things in life other than the normal beaver cleaver shit

I even followed in my moms footsteps.... she was at a alice cooper concert when she was 8 months pregnant with me... i went to a frank zappa concert when i was about to give birth with my first child(was nice having all the bodygaurds stand around me to protect me up front)

Fletch XXX 07-25-2003 09:06 AM

Zappa was the fucking man.

I've collected his albums as long as I can remember.

XxXotic 07-25-2003 09:07 AM

kill the fucker, there are plenty of other non poisonous spiders around to handle the other bugs in the house. I've been bit by a brown recluse and a black widow, both wound up putting me in the hospital. it's really not worth the trouble

Sweet jesus, where do you people live with all those crazy bugs in your house. Is it the norm, or do you just have bug infested houses? I live in NH, and I am proud to say there are no poisonous bugs in my house. The scariest thing I have is a chipmunk under the porch... digs holes everywhere buy my girl won't let me get rid of it because it gets up on the chair with her when shes out tanning.

eiht_98 07-25-2003 09:18 AM

damn guys...where do you live?...scorpions, black widows, snakes...aaaargh
