So you're sitting at Granny's house, and she asks how work is...and what exactly it is you do...and your reply?

Or, you're on the _____ date with someone who really does it for you, and they ask something like..."so tell me what kind of graphic design you do?"

I haven't had to reply to anything like that, but I'd say something to the effect of:

"I do graphic and web design for large businesses and small companies alike. Both mainstream and other related niches".

I wouldn't get into the nitty-gritty details. :winkwink:

Generally, I tell people that I do "web design". If they are family, and they push, I mostly make stuff up. Friends can know, and certainly girls I am interested in get the truth.

Neither of my girlfriends mind what I do. Very few of my friends even blinked, and everyone is cool with it.

I tell people I masturbate caged animals for laboratory experiments.

I tell people I'm a fireman.

I tell ppl im a rocket scientest, when they ask me specific questions, i kill them.

I tell people the same thing, but when they ask specific questions I show them my degree in aerospace engineering and that shuts 'em up.

"Systems Adminstrator" usually kills the subject.

I've not once had a person ask me, "for what type of company".

Most of the people I know, know what I do. When it comes to granny et al., I basically just say that I am the Director of Sales for a Marketing company. I think that over the years they have figured it out, but just haven't said anything.

B: It's either a law enforcement or media type or someone I think might talk to law enforcement or media types.

Webdesign... when they ask for URLs I throw my mainstream sites at them... when they start wondering how can I make a living with those, and why I'm not working for a big corporation I change the subject. I will have to come up with something better one day....
