I wouldn't waste my time on Hunger Games. Watch Battle Royle instead. Much better take on a similar situation. BUT...not sci fi.

Looper was much better than I had expected. Total Recall wasn't bad.

i loved that movie!

The best way to get Sci-fi is reading anthologies, I have lost count on how many i have now. I enjoy Alternate histories, Alien wars, First contacts...everything really, even some Steampunk now and then.

i have seen 3 different versions of The Time Machine, great classic.

Also : Time After Time, and if you like mush with your time travel, check out Somewhere in Time. And if you want to think about time travel until your head explodes, watch PRIMER. And if you want to laugh with your time travel, try "Frequently Asked Questions about Time Travel" or of course, Back to the Future.

Other great sci-fi : Contact.

I admit it - I have watched it 100 times too. I don't know why I like it so much. The part where Christopher Reeve discovers the coin in his pocket - Holy Fuck - I never saw it coming - totally surprising, heart wrenching too. I was like "Noooooooooo!!!!!!"

God no... such a terrible movie on so many levels. It was awful then, and I tried watching it a few weeks ago - had to turn it off. Just crap through and through.

You can also watch "Event Horizon" and Pandorum. Both sci-fi horrors.. nowhere near sunshine but ok, better than nothing..
