Webair = BUSTED

Not my detective work but I thought this deserved its own thread. CT caught the Weberror guys using a fake name to shill for them. It's pretty sad that you have to resort to using fake nicks because there aren't enough real customers that have a positive opinion of Webair.

I've used most of the hosting company in adult. Next to hostgator (where bad is to be expected), Webair was definitely the next worst experience for us.

Phatservers
Mojohost
NatNet

No need to go anywhere else.

Oracle Porn 05-14-2012 05:48 AM

I am fake too?

notjoe 05-14-2012 05:50 AM

Using fake nicks is easier than posting under their real nick and having to be accountable.

Nope. You seem to be a regular guy who is willing to sell his sig for a few bucks. Nothing wrong with that but it's not what I would consider an actual testimonial.

I host sites @ webair, sites that make me money, get a lot of google traffic, and rely on the server working fast and being up. I lose money if my server ever goes down, my server is up, actually I recently started using pingdom and it shows "Uptime 99.92%"
I have no problems and support is usually fast, just like at any other host, and I've used numerous (hosts) over my the "short" period of time I've been in adult. These are all facts and the truth, you can spin it anyway you like.

I'm not spinning anything. Why are there so many negative threads about them and so few positives? Why did they need to resort to using fake nicks if everything is going great? Why couldn't they even get a working server provisioned for me when I tried to move to them a little over a year ago?

I've noticed in the past few threads about them, they do not even reply anymore.

Perhaps they joined DJ and abandoned GFY.

:helpme

EddyTheDog 05-14-2012 06:19 AM

I tried to cancel an account with them after crappy service, I had no response so I just stopped paying and moved my stuff. It took them six months to notice and then they sent me a rude email.

Just about sums them up.

I don't work for them so I don't know the answer to all your question. But when everything is fine most people won't start a thread "my hosting company is fine, everything is up, business as usual".

Fair enough. To use your logic, there should be an equal number of threads complaining about companies like MojoHost or NatNet etc.. but strangely, there isn't.

There is a hugely disproportionate number of threads complaining about Webair and Webair support.

Odd right?

Many of the other hosting companies do not offer "shared" hosting plans. Webair still does. That alone makes a huge difference when you are talking about all of these complaints. You can see this with a number of mainstream hosts as well in that regard.

I am not excusing webair by any means. I am just saying to be fair and in context.

:2 cents:

2intense 05-14-2012 06:52 AM

welcome to webair !

Pushcube 05-14-2012 06:52 AM

I could be totally wrong here, but, as Mojo and NN don't take on VPS clients who think their $10 a month VPS should get them the same performance/support as a dedi box that might be a part of the amount of threads. This obviously doesn't cover people that had genuine problems with dedi boxes at Webair of course, but I'm pretty sure VPS has something to do with it.

I'd be willing to bet 75%+ of all threads on all forums saying "XYZ Hosting Sucks!" are started by asshats on a $10 VPS plan.

there are plenty of complaints about all companies, open your ears and eyes.

btw between the companies you mention above, which is the only one selling $9.99 virtual accounts to gfy noobs?

That was my point.

To my knowledge, MOJO, or NatNet (among some others) do not even offer shared or low cost hosting. Which I can tell you from a hosting perspective is a whole different ballgame. They might have in the past, but do not any longer and with good reason.

Those who pay the least, cry the most.

You expect it to work as promised - It doesn't matter if you pay $10 or $10K.

Tom_PM 05-14-2012 07:24 AM

I don't think it's bad for people to complain if a complaint is warranted no matter what they're paying. A person trying to make it on the internet who has less money to start is risking a much higher percentage of their money. Isn't that true?

Oracle Porn 05-14-2012 07:25 AM

There's no point in arguing or going back and forth. I'm not selling anything, anyone not satisfied with their host should move rather then open up gfy threads.

The most common complaint for EVERYONE is that Webair support sucks. That's also been my experience and that of people I know and work with. As far as I recall, there is no support for virtual accounts and hasn't been since 08 or so. That said, their support sucks and they don't answer support tickets which is why people bring it to the boards.

im a content webair client.

never a downtime issue

but i only run wordpress so im not beating a server up much :)

Nurgle 05-14-2012 07:43 AM

too fucking funny, another Webair success story!

Alex69 05-14-2012 07:46 AM

well i am happy with them :)

i think everyone used several nicknames on different forums i the past for promotional reasons - it is not illigal

you would be stupid not to do that

Diomed 05-14-2012 08:02 AM

Say what you will about webair,

but Gerard is a stand up guy. I wouldn't consider them if he wasn't there, but he is.

Going to get a VPS plan from them this week.

webair 05-14-2012 08:08 AM

I haven't posted here in quite some time, someone just messaged me this thread. It's kinda pathetic to see the same guys, making the same negative posts, over and over again. I guess I'll address this ridiculous thread.

1. With regard to using any fake nicks - Proof or BAN.
2. CT - I took the time personally to look into your issue and into your claim that you have yet to receive root? According to my staff and the notes on your account you confirmed you had what you needed. If you still need assistance I suggest you call in directly.
3. Aaron M - wow do you have a lot of time on your hands! Posting about me since what thursday? God I love you! How is amp content holding up these days? Must be busy!

Back to work!

Never ever did this, and I think it is quite unethical to do so. You are either just joking or I can be considered stupid. :pimp

redwhiteandblue 05-14-2012 08:31 AM

Have had a dedi at Webair for about five years now. It's been absolutely fine. I can't remember the last time I noticed any down time.

This is your biggest problem. Why not just answer support tickets in a reasonable time? Why should people be contacting you on ICQ or calling you or anything else?

WarChild 05-14-2012 08:52 AM

I have had 2 dedicated boxes as Webair for a number of years. I've never experienced any problem with downtime. The few times I've needed to use support they were fast and solved my issues via their live chat right away. I think it's fair to say I'm not a fake nick either. :2 cents:

Pic from Gitmo that caused Obama to say he was shutting it down, as I recall.

3xmedia 05-14-2012 09:09 AM

i have had an account with webair for 5+ years now. no issues at all. their live support is truly 24/7/365, support tickets are answered in a reasonable time.
