The News of the World is to publish its last edition on Sunday, News International announces, amid a scandal involving phone hacking.

Tom_PM 07-07-2011 08:58 AM

Maybe they should jail the owner of that paper too.

RuthB 07-07-2011 09:04 AM

No, not really. DVTimes is a mentally ill idiot.

However, there has been a huge scandal here where the Chief Exec of News International has been found out for bribing police and hacking into the phones of Milly Dowler, and deleting messages that could have helped the police.

Quite a coup.

Scott McD 07-07-2011 09:08 AM

Fuck them!

Dirty bastards...

seeandsee 07-07-2011 09:11 AM

Good they should also close down The Sun as it is just as bad as News of the World

Sick bastards hacking into murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler and the families of 7/7 bombing victims mobile phones to get a story. Fuck people who do that

You have to have no interest in the real news to read it.

It was a pile of shit 30 years ago and it got worse.

MSNBC reported this morning that Murdoch has huge power with British politicians though. Saying that Blair used to hop on jets just to attend meetings with him. Makes one wonder just how deep any investigation will really go. I'm sure one or two peons have already fallen on their swords over this.

Wilsy 07-07-2011 10:01 AM

Major News i just heard it was making 900 million a year and they have Axed it i think there is more to it than that

I think if they do go deeper into it it will cause a lot more problems than just with the news of the world so maybe they think by closing the paper down they wont be able to dig to deep. This is now involving police who allegedly took payments from jounalists to give out information which they were not supposed to do

The Murdoch papers help right wing governments get elected

They spread dis information to support foreign war ..Iraq etc

They Support "Our Boys "....

Attack the peace movement, left and Trade Unions

They bribe the police (known as the filth in the UK )

Support the police in their violent attacks on anyone protesting.

hack dead soldiers and murder victims phones to make an extra buck...

Controls more than 40% of the UK Media....

Innocent people don't get attacked by police. (99% of the time)

People throwing bricks, bottles, fire extinguishers, etc might get struck with a baton. And rightly so...

Fire extinguisher thrown from the rooftop of a multi-storey building.

For truth...

Cherry7 07-07-2011 11:01 AM

Yes he went to jail for throwing a fire extinguisher of the roof.

The policemen that murdered a passerby is only being brought to justice after 3 year battle.

We not show the kettling of 16 year old children for 8 hours by our wonderful men in blue (on the pay of the gutter press)

When were you last on a demonstration to view the behavior of the police ? Or did you trust the same newspapers you now condemn?

He was pushed in the back, and fell over because he was pissed drunk.

Don't let facts get in the way of some police bashing though...

Best point so far :2 cents: Either way it is good that at least some people will fall for this.

I have a job, which means i don't go to such demonstrations.

The people who do however are either unemployed, lazy students who think their opinion counts when it doesn't, and generally smelly people who should be having a shower instead of wasting police time and money...

Inquest Jury said

Jurors ruled he acted illegally, recklessly and dangerously in shoving Mr Tomlinson to the ground.

Pc Harwood used "excessive and unreasonable" force in hitting Mr Tomlinson with a baton, the jury said. Mr Tomlinson posed no threat, they added.

He was in the way of a police line, and unfortunately after being pushed hit his head and later died.

Is this your proof that police ATTACK everyone they see ?? :Oh crap

Makes sense considering they were listening to everyone's voice-mails.

Cherry7 07-07-2011 11:30 AM

You can't read....

halfpint 07-07-2011 11:33 AM

They are now saying that over 4000 peoples phones were hacked and police were bribed

Damm this could have repercussions for some sentances

200 people will be moved or offered a new job with Ruperts other papers but they say by closing the newspaper down will not make the problems, investigations and alligations go away .
