I haven't lived in the UK for many years now, but until they started trying to charge for access, I would regularly take a glance at the paper online.
It hasn't carried "news" for years but for sports, who did what when pissed and who is shagging who it was a decent read. Very extreme move to close down all that history though. It is not as if it will make the legal cases go away. |

Everyone knows that he sacrificed the paper to try and get 100% ownership of Sky - Lets just hope that the politicians and OFCOM do the right thing for once. |

From the Vietnam protests and Anti Apartheid demonstrations of the 60's, the demonstrations against bombing Libya by Reagan, The Miner's Strike and and every industrial dispute...The press have supported the police attacking protesters / strikers. In one of the most famous cases the BBC reversed the footage to show the Miners throwing stones then the Police charging the Miners on horse. Whereas the truth was the Miners were attacked by the police first and acted in self defense. The police being used as state strikebreakers, The newspapers as the propaganda to dis inform the public. Remember how the called the Miners liars when they said the government was going to close the pits? |
