Paxum Joins ACIUF In Fight Against Piracy

PRAGUE ? Payment solution provider Paxum has joined the Adult Content Industry United Foundation (ACIUF) in its ongoing fight against online piracy.

ACIUF President Siep Kuppens, said that Paxum's CEO, Octav Moise, stands for "an ethical business practice" and that the processor has set an example for the rest of the industry to follow.

"It is now agreed that if the ACIUF detects an illegal entity which uses Paxum as a payment system, it will be reported and immediate action will be taken," Kuppens said. "If the entity appears to be illegal the account will be instantly terminated."

"Although Paxum is very keen on their due diligence, every now and then a pirate, an uploading affiliate or an illegal file locker circumvents the extensive control measures.

Kuppens, who operates Payserve.com as CEO, launched antipiracy group ACIUF in March.

Not Lost IF they actually shut down the illegal tube owners etc. Especially since MOST use paxum since they are out of the country. Terminate their account and no more funding which still is a irritation and hassle. This is only good IF they actually terminate them.

This is an interesting line:

"If the entity appears to be illegal"

So, what is the process to ascertain if it IS illegal? Or will Paxum just shut accounts down it thinks are illegal?

Nice to see people are still actively taking stands against piracy, no matter if lost cause or not.

Good job Ruth and Paxum

I gather Paxum will have no problems signing a similar agreement with Copy Control then. I've sent you an email to this end Ruth.

Is Paxum not replying to you?

Perhaps you were cock blocked by ACIUF. Seems to happen a lot in this business with it comes to anti-piracy companies. Easy to spot who's in it for a buck who is in it to get results.

Looks like you're right DWB.

On the 6th of October I emailed Ruth about DownloadNoLimit.com, on the 11th October I emailed her again asking for an update, on the 12th of October ACIUF release a press release stating Paxum have withdrawn processing from DownloadNoLimit.com

Paxum still haven't replied concerning our original report, however seem to have notified ACIUF they've ceased processing for DownloadNoLimit, nor have they replied about signing an information sharing agreement.

Hi DWB,

Don't know what you are holding against me or against the ACIUF, but the ACIUF is NOT a company. The founders are not making any money out of it and they never will. You even might want to believe it costed us a lot of money to set things up. If you don't have a clue, ask AK. He can tell you what doing this shit means financially.

Although we are collaborating with Paxum (and I am very happy with it) we are not responsible for their email-policy.

if it was an email to infringements -at- copycontrol.org those aren't answered necessarily, the information from infringement reports goes into our database.

You think we are in a conspiracy? The ACIUF and Paxum were on to downloadnolimit long before the 6th of October. Some things just need some time (as you very well know).

Why did it take so long ? It was pretty cut and dried as far as we could tell. Paypal terminated DownloadNoLimit.com within 5 hours of us reporting the site.

Like you, we don't discuss operational matters on boards. Only thing I can and will say about this is that there is more to downloadnolimit than downloadnolimt

Meantime, if we can be of help sent the information to [email protected]

Odd that when Ruth thanked us for the initial report she didn't indicate it was already being looked in to.

Paxum need to step up to the plate and provide us with a direct link to their risk department, handling these things through reps and third parties is not the way to do it.

Ruth, please email us with a point of contact who can handle these matters in a timely fashion.

Hey AdultKing,

As far as I'm aware we have not yet received an agreement from you. On October 3rd we sent an email to you stating the following

Quote:
I will forward your request internally, and I'd be happy to send along any relevant information you may have.
you did respond to us stating what you guys do but you did not include any sort of agreement.

We did indeed get your notification regarding DownloadNoLimit.com - at the time that you sent this over to us we had already been investigating the site from previous reports regarding them. Action was taken against that account holder based on complaints previous to yours. Since a press release was issued regarding the matter, I assumed there was no need to respond to your follow-up email about the status.

If you have an agreement you would like us to sign, please go ahead and send it over and we will have the proper people within our company look it over.

Nothing against you personally. However, we've all been around long enough to know when money is spent on something such as this, it often comes with strings attached. It wouldn't be the first time for an anti-piracy group to do such a thing. That may or may not be the case here, but it does look awfully suspicious that Paxum would partner with one organization and then ignore emails of another. Either Paxum is not really serious about piracy or your deal prohibits them from collaborating with others. At this point the coin is still in the air and we're all waiting for Ruth to call it when it lands.

That said, it's all fighting the same fight so I'm not too bent out of shape over it. It just makes both parties involved in the deal look a little suspicious, which could be counter active to fighting piracy on a larger scale.

Thanks Ruth, I guess that explains why the last three emails to you asking for an update went unanswered.

We have been waiting for you to send us an agreement in the terms as signed by ACIUF, in fact that's what we asked for.

Maybe our approach was more appealing. We had a meeting and we agreed on collaboration. That was all.

Still don't like the fact that you keep talking about us in terms of "strings attached", "may or may not be the case here". But you know what? It is ok with me, think what you have to.

BTW some people you know might have a different opinion about me

I think you will find they have a clause in their contract that says they are able to do this.

I, as an anti piracy person, read it to mean.

"If the site "appears to be illegal" such as having links to brands they are not, content that don't allow processing for. They cut and wait for an explanation.

It is if it looks guilty, that's enough. The aggrieved company is welcome to explain why.

This IMO would be enough http://www.downloadnolimit.com/copyright-owner AK will come up with more I'm certain.
