With the popularity of sites like MFC spreading like wildfire I find it impossible for traditional pay per minute webcam sites to compete. I never was a huge webcam affiliate but it seems to me the MFC model must be drawing huge amounts of good traffic, the best models, money, etc away from traditional webcam sites.

Thoughts?

I haven't seen a change on our own WL other then the revenue going slightly up.

Personally I am not too worried about MFC right now.

MFC has been around for a few years now and we just launched our Cams Site and we are doing great. Great as in sales are coming in and people are making money.

The "Free" in MFC is good marketing.

When you look at it closer the site is not all that different from a traditional pay per minute site. A nice set-up makes it inviting to non initiated webcam surfers, a couple of extra features... that is about it.

They won't get all the "best models" either. Models get a better share but many don't like dealing with all the free loaders, or have records of their private shows everywhere on the Net.

During the little clip above they went private. At the time there was 3k people watching. They seemed to enjoy the chat interaction with the other lurkers for the most part. I got a few laughs out of reading what was being said and asked of these 3 hotties to do, let me tell you, lots of pervs out there

Here's some observations from CZ.

Webcam studios are down sizing or closing.
Girls are getting put off by the money they can earn.

As for sponsors telling me all is rosy and getting rosier. What else would they say?

No one was very worried about Tubes 3 years ago. Now it's different. Will MFC break the mold?

Too early to tell.

Like all things web cams need to adapt. Do they have what it takes?

Think they have some way to go before becoming a real threat... the technical quality just isn't there. And, personally, if I'm going to pay for private chat, I want a consistently good video stream. Additionally, I think the site's design and layout is poor. I get really annoyed with the lack of order in that area. The design chaos on that site makes me want to get off of it. But, the site's flaws prove there's a pretty big market for live video chat... even when it's not presented in the best way possible. On another issue, I've always wondered how MFC got so big without an affiliate program.

The adult Internet is the worse business for adapting to new competition unless it's in the field of traffic. Unless they adapt to this in the Webcam market they will suffer like paysites have and affiliates can watch their earning go down.

While all the bro sponsors will tell you things have never been better, they should be adapting to this new model. All the faults pointed out will be fixed by the next guy to pick up on the idea. It will also have an effect on on paysites.

How many will keep paying a months membership to watch something recorded months/years ago when they can watch the same thing live and push the girl to do more by tipping her?

If you spent just ten minutes there you'd have your answer, you're missing the obvious. Its a simple concept, instead of girls holding out for that one guy willing to pay a lot for a private session, they perform in the nude free with the notion that they'll get tipped a small amount by many for their efforts and they do. Sure there are tons of freeloaders, but there are also lots of guys willing to tip five, ten or twenty bucks to show their appreciation to a model in the nude, but they otherwise wouldn't spend $50 to take them private. Mfc is the best of both worlds and its their flexibility that puts them above other cam sites. Models can choose to only show in private or group mode or they can show in free mode and attract tips that way.

And, personally, if I'm going to pay for private chat, I want a consistently good video stream. Additionally, I think the site's design and layout is poor. I get really annoyed with the lack of order in that area. The design chaos on that site makes me want to get off of it. But, the site's flaws prove there's a pretty big market for live video chat... even when it's not presented in the best way possible. On another issue, I've always wondered how MFC got so big without an affiliate program.
