GE is is buying 25,000 electric cars

They are converting half their fleet of cars to electric cars by 2015.

Quote:
"By electrifying our own fleet, we will accelerate the adoption curve, drive scale, and move electric vehicles from anticipation to action,"
Good for them. I want an electric car!

"Still, only 30,000 electric vehicles are expected to be sold next year, out of a projected 13 million new cars. "

Wow, apparently people don't want to spend the extra cash for electric cars yet.

No wonder Warren Buffet invested so much in GE. He can see the future.

Plus, John Titor said the time machine is made by GE.

they are cutting their costs, since they will no longer use oil/gas than will use the prower they are producing themselves and that's always cheaper than anything you have to buy from third party...

If this article is true then recharge time and how far you can drive has just become non issues.

http://www.etdsonline.com/news/aroun...r-600-kms.html

I looked on the DBM site and it doesn't say anything about this yet but it did mention the forklifts running for 28 hours on one charge.

Smart move. With a fleet that size, they will save zillions on service costs.

There is approximately 308.794 trillion cubic feet of untapped natural gas and roughly 57 billion barrels of oil yet to be refined in North America alone. Internal combustion engines aren't going anywhere in the foreseeable future. They've been trying to make electric cars a feasible alternative since the crude invention of them between 1832 and 1839 (the exact year is uncertain). I'm all for alternative fuel sources to decrease American foreign oil dependence, but they're looking in the wrong place.
