honestly, you can learn it quickly and easily just going to a casino during a slow time and stand next to a dealer on the corner. thats how I did and learned it pretty quickly.
basically, there are two things you should know. if there is a point established or not. meaning, on a new game a player rolls the dice and 7/11 will pay if you bet the "pass line." once the player rolls a 4,5,6,8,9 or 10 then a point is established. if a 7/11 is rolled before that point is rolled again you loose (assuming you bet the pass line). if you be the pass line and the point is hit, you get paid 1:1 on your bet. just take a few bucks and put it on the passline, you will see how easy it is to learn ![]() edit: btw, if you have an iPhone, they have a cool craps game you can download and play. its called "craps deluxe"

Pass and don't pass line, lay or take odds on the coming out roll (the roller's point.) Vegas rules this is .5% in the house's favor.

The basic bets are quite simple, offering two choices, either bet on "The Pass Line" or bet the opposite being "Don't Pass". The game is played in stages, before the beginning dice roll or "come out" roll is when you are able to place your bet(s), on the table - this is indicated by a black laminated marker marked "off". Betting on "The Pass Line" means that if the "come out" roll is either a 7 or 11, then you win even money. Roll a 2, 3, or 12 and you instantly lose. If any other total is rolled (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) it is tallied as a "point" which basically means the "shooter" or person rolling the dice needs to continue rolling until either they roll the previously tallied "point" again (win) or a 7 which is an instant loss. Betting on "The Pass Line" is basically betting that the "shooter" is going to roll a winer, most people make this bet around the table. Betting on "Don't Pass" is almost the opposite of the above. If the come out roll is a 2 or 3 then you win, a 7 or 11 you lose - 12 is a push. Otherwise, the dice are rolled over and over until either the point or a 7 is rolled. If the 7 comes first you win, if the point come first you lose. All wins pay even money. This is a bet against the shooter and most likely the majority of the people around you, if you're winning they are losing - don't be this guy. There are other ways to bet on the dice rolls, but none offer the same odds. Any half decent casino will have adequate "floorman" who would be more then happy to show you the ins and outs and unlike poker you won't lose your shirt trying to learn. I still can't post URLS but a great article is at; www(dot)wizzardofodds(dot)com(slash)craps Have a great time! Best,

Put the min bet up on the pass line. Once you've got the mark, lay the min bet across 4,5,6,8,9,10 minus which ever is taken. $5 table you've got roughly $37 on the table. Now if a 7 comes up, you're boned... but on the flip 5ish hits depending on the number, can bring you back even.
To push it you can back your bets up on each win. Or once you come back to even, start using the come bet, just remember to put it back up each time. Stack the odds to the main bet and not the come. If you hit your number, then a 7 you limit the amount taken off the back line. I go to gamble, $5 bets on 6/8 suck. Doing it the above way can easily burn $500 and get nothing back...but when that 45 min - 60+ min role comes in, that $500 turns into $5000 really fast. I do find the above lets me play "aggressive" longer...
