Resizing smaller images to a larger width

I have a 400px watermark that I want at the bottom left of all my images. Most images are over 400px wide but some are smaller than 400px so the watermark gets cut off. I want to basically make the width of all the images a minimum of 400px. The ones under 400 are of various widths. Anyone know of a program that can add white space on both sides of the images until it is a certain width (400px)?

Enlarging images is full of fail, you need to scale down your watermark instead.

scaling it down would make it look bad since it has txt in it, you cannot read it if you scale it down.

Depending on what the size & quality was before hand. 400px wide is not very wide. Download the whole directory & run the folder through adobe photoshop gallery maker, resizing them to the same size if its only a small width change. A white edge could look cheap considering some wouldnt have the edging

Agreed... 400 wide is huge... If you can't do it in 200-300 wide with any text being readable, then you've got far too much text or the graphics designer doesn't know what they're doing.

Do you have originals with bigger resolution?
Upscaling images are double fail (bigger size for less quality).

Agreed... A copyright watermark should be visable with 200px

@MKX The text youhave in the image above is only 150-200px... whats the watermark text, whats your copyright company name?
