Personally I think it will never die but the landscape will completely change (new technology, devices, demands/behaviour of the consumers and hopefully some regulations).

The industry itself will need to adapt and to be open minded to this to survive and probably as in the airline industry there will be some star alliances to compete against the rest of the competitors.

It's kind of exciting to see what will happen with all the new tech available now and the recession going on what will come out.

It hurts sales for sure. It has helped to cause a lot of people to go out of business. However the tubes aren't always the best way to get content. Just like anything else people will get bored of it (presentation, type of content). And you will always have customers who want a lot more than they can find at the pirate sites. I really don't feel any type of computer generated content is a large threat to the adult space. Its a pendulum, whatever is big it will eventually create a need and things will swing the other way.
