One of those things where one day he'll look back and laugh because despite making a mistake like this, he's still rich and most of you laughing at him are and will still be broke.
FWIW, she IS hot in the pics that are out there, and it's not like she was super notable amongst the crowd here.Want to crush it in mainstream with Facebook ads? Hit me up.Comment

no doubt steve stubbed his toe here but he's set for life, he found the stars when it mattered, when they could make millions.
there are no superstar solo models anymore, just isn't possible today.
i don't believe there's one revshare teen solo model site today averaging 30 joins a day - anybody who says otherwise give me access to your stats and I'll pay you $1000 if you are.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!Comment

Is this a fact, like you have seen his bank account, or are you just assuming because he has made a lot of money in the past.
I'd venture guess a lot of the people who made millions in the late 90s early 2000 are not doing nearly as well as a lot of people here think. Especially if these same people invested money back into other projects online or offline such as real estate.
You would have to have more than a few million in the bank to live off the interest and maintain some of the life styles that some of the ballers here had.ICQ: 86364801 Email: will [at] innovativeassets [dot] com

I know what sales he was making in his heyday and I know he doesn't live ostentatiously. I'm also sure that he's still making a few hundred grand a year off new sales/rebills so he doesn't have to tap into his savings to support his current lifestyle. Is this a fact, like you have seen his bank account, or are you just assuming because he has made a lot of money in the past.

so it sounds like lightspeed is making about 10% of what it use to. You think if that is the case Steve would be more inclined to make changes instead of keep on doing the same thing over and over and over.ICQ: 86364801 Email: will [at] innovativeassets [dot] com

Will, I like you, but you obviously don't know much about me. I was ready to retire before I started Lightspeed. This isn't my first successful career. I started Lightspeed FOR FUN, it's never been about the money for me. I'm sorry if I haven't lived up to YOUR expectations, but that was never my goal.
I could have made a lot more money over the last 11 years. But I chose not to cheat my affiliates, my employees, my models, or my members. I turned down $100k/week to install spyware. I never shaved, I never spammed, I never did hidden prechecked xsales, and I never stole content. Fuck yes, I could have made more money!
I've supported ASACP, FSC, the fight against Acacia, and now the war on piracy. I sponsored dozens of conventions just for the fun of it. I donated to many people here who needed help. But that doesn't matter now, because I'm not running my websites the way YOU think they should be run!
Lightspeed's peak year was in 2005. We were rolling in money. Millions. But I was miserable that year. I turned 40. I almost lost my family. I had a terrible drug addiction. And I was chasing away my closest friends. So I put the brakes on Lightspeed, and started working to fix my personal life. Since then, I've cleaned up, saved my marriage, and spent several wonderful years at home with my children. All worth more to me that money or fame ever will.
So now, I am a "dinosaur" and I'm "out of touch", and I must be only making a fraction of my prior years. No, I'M HAPPY. I hope someday you'll all do something that makes you happy too.

Steve, don't be so sensitive. I was replying to Mutts comment that if Lightspeed is only making a couple hundred thousand a year in rebills now then it must have been on a big decline from where it was. Will, I like you, but you obviously don't know much about me. Steve Lightspeed
You don't have to live up to anyone's expectations but your own. I applaud you for not cheating affiliates, shaving, using spy ware etc.
If you are just doing this as a hobby and you don't care and don't need the money because you are retired a couple times over than fine. But it just didn't seem like that from your posts here looking for the next superstar and your comments about having several new sites to roll out. It seems like you do care and you want to make your business a success again in the future. The replies here made by me and many others where about your reluctance to make changes when needed to keep your sites going as a success in the future. If you don't need the money and prefer to keep doing things the same way and making less then pardon me and ignore my comments.
While I am sure this thread has bothered you from the people taking pop shots at you, that wasn't the case from my posts. I was trying to help.
Seriously, if you care about lightspeed and want to turn it around consult with someone else to get help. But if you don't care about future success or making more money then more power to you, keep doing what you doing.ICQ: 86364801 Email: will [at] innovativeassets [dot] com

The teen niche isn't what it once was. Teen shit just doesn't sell like it was in the late 1990's into 2000. Back then I would put up a 150 x 150 banner of Tawnee Stone at the top of my tgps and make 50 sales a day.
Solo girl sites and "superstars" are still going on. Just not in the niche that you enjoy (teen). There are still girls making fortunes. But for the last 7 years MILF has ruled where teen once did.-Robbie

If Steve has been chilling since 2005 then no wonder he's out of touch with the market. The last couple of years have been ridiculous everywhere I look. It even creeped into some recession resistant stuff I do offline.
As for modern day superstars, it is oh so very possible to make it so but not with the way it was done a half decade ago. It takes some real crazy thinking and a 180 from what most people want to do with a new site.

solo amateur sites with swinging, cuckholds, interracial, hardcore is a whole other world

Ohh yeah.. 2005... The year of the solo model!
I was hanging with peeps at the NATS gig and was telling them about solo model contacts and how you are basically the only one with solo model contracts bent towards her being able to actually earn a living and live above the poverty line.
After explaining to them the difference between how Teen Revenue does business in regards to the models and how you do it, they basically decided it was time to rekindle their relationship with lightspeed cash.
Now if you could just do some tour redesigns?
pretty, pretty please?Comment

Understood. But I never thought of solo girl sites as being associated with teens. Always thought of teens as teens and solo girl sites as sites that featured one girl as the "star" of the show.
But since my beginnings were as a categorized TGP guy that would probably explain our differing views of what "solo girl site" means.
To me Lisa Sparxxx, Celeste Fox, Raven Riley, Jordan Capri, etc. are all solo girl sites. But that's just my particular viewpoint.
Which takes me back to what you were saying...I agree, the teen niche isn't hot at the moment. But you never know. 5 years from now it might be King again.-Robbie

Mr. Jones returned to his home state of Washington, where he earned a degree in computer programming at a trade school. After working for a software company, he launched his own consulting business, which helped retailers set up their computer systems.
By the late 1990s, Mr. Jones was an avid viewer of online porn, and decided to start dabbling in a second career. He placed an advertisement for amateur models in an alternative weekly newspaper in Seattle. He hired three girls and began shooting nude photographs of them in secluded settings around town. "I really had no idea what I was doing," said Mr. Jones. "Our goal was to make a little extra money for our kids' college fund."

yeap and i was responding to steve saying " I started Lightspeed FOR FUN, it's never been about the money for me. " The article also said "By 2000, the site was generating enough income that Mr. Jones was able to shut down his consulting business."
So apparently it was about the money.
Is he sueing people for fun or is that perhaps for the money as well.
Everything is about the money.

Well, I guess I'll chime in on this.
As I understand it, this girl was was looking for a website a while back. She sent photos into Lightspeed...and got REJECTED. She was told she didn't have the "look" they were going for.
She tried LuvCamZ and was accepted right away. So now that LuvCamZ, although a small company, has put in the work to help this girl meet her financial goals. Suddenly, Lightspeed returns! A case of 20/20 hindsight maybe?
Whatever the case is, as I understand it, she has no plans on becoming Lightspeed's next super star. (I could be wrong, but I doubt it)
As for the blurred out "email address" lol..... It was indeed a watermark for her current site baby-jana.com. I know this because I put it there and now its gone. lmao
Jana is a former "teenie" model and she's shot content for a couple of websites before.
Right now she's camming and as far as I know, the only site with CURRENT updated content is her baby-jana.com site. There is at least 1 other site posting content of her but its from 2 years ago or so. (all VERY softcore)
With all that said, I have to admit, I've never heard of Steve Lightspeed until Jana mentioned him to me. I've read his story and was truly impressed. I actually have a great deal of respect for Steve's accomplishments in the adult biz, who wouldn't?
Yet as per this situation involving Jana...NAUGHTY NAUGHTY NAUGHTY STEVE LIGHTSPEED! lmao
I'm a successful musician and former music biz exec. Becoming rich isn't my motivation for doing websites. For me it's alot like the music biz. Find an artist (model) record and market them (website) and hopefully the public is receptive and everyone makes money.
It's also a great way to kill time between gigs.
LuvCamZ is very model friendly, the goal is to help the MODEL make money.
I am an army of 1 trying to do the job of 15. So if anyone has any "constructive" suggestions or advice, it would be much appreciated.
I'm in the process of redesigning sites so time is scarce but I do plan on visiting this forum as much as possible.
Unlike Steve, I love my day job. I have no intention of quitting it. Yet, if my "hobby" becomes as successful as his did I wouldn't complain.(but still wouldn't quit)
Congrats Steve..you are the man! Just stay away from my models!!!! lmao
lol @ name and email address blurring...good one!
Good Luck Everyone!Comment
