Pure is the only way to go IMO. I am a cigarette smoker as well but HATE mixing my weed with tobacco. I had a friend in high school who was from another country (can't remember which) and he always mixed his 50/50. Needless to say I never smoked any of his stuff.
 I have both my bong and my steamroller sitting next to me right now. Oh, and a nice hefty bag of "Green Crack".

Can't believe how many people prefer both at once but can't say I didn't expect it, I found out a while ago that many people like "spliffs", however I find it fucking disgusting.

I spend a year in the french riviera and had to get used to mixing, it's hard to find weed there only hash was available. I don't know how I got used to do that. Now when I take a puff of a mixed joint I feel like puking
