ADVICE for all you STRUGGLING in the business at the moment

LEAVE IT.

Go back / go to college and retrain, figure out something else to do, this business is only going to get worse from hereonin. If you can't make money now, you aren't going to.

Maybe I should if you say so.

Which fast food place do you work at, while thinking you're going to "make it online"?

Not entirely true... I know why my sales are struggling at the moment and I have no one to blame but me. But my shit will rebound quickly as I have been back on the ball on putting attention where it needs to be instead of on other outside areas.

However, I feel what you're getting at.

Well my point to the noobs was that if they are feeling it now, and struggling, they should really treat it as a hobby and do something else.

yeah, go fight Klichko and when he fucks you up pretty badly, don't just give up, pull yourself together and go for another round

putting money and effort in adult right now = you like getting hurt

BTW, many sponsors will use the epassporte fuck-up to skip individual payments here and there - mark my word

Come on now, if you're worried about "trash sites" outranking you, you've got some revisiting of the drawing board to do yourself. Let people do their thing and they'll find themselves going one way or the other all by themselves. There's lots of money still online, it's the "easy" money that is running out. Giving up is not the way to go, learn from your mistakes. I fucked up big time, took an extended break fromt hings and let my head clear. Now I'm slowly slipping my way back in.

I started rebuilding a new network only about 3 weeks ago, and it's already earned me a few hundred bucks. I don't see why I can't be back to a steady online income I can live on within six months. I guess I do have a fair bit of experience over the average noob though, and I can understand where you're coming from on that point. It's got to be pretty discouraging trying to make money online right now for someone who doesn't have an established skill set already. Especially in adult. The dropout rate for online marketers has always been high though.

Cat, I thought you were back to laying planks

I'm not worried, but the crud that's ranking these days in google, the less dross the better. I'd rather talk to people on the boards who have a clue rather than chest pumping.

I took a shitty bookkeeping job with the resort for the winter. Gets me a ski-pass, and pay is about as good as it's going to get for me without going back to a ditch digging position somewhere. It's easy, not much is expected of me, and I can pretty much sit in my office writing content for my mainstream projects half of my day and nobody cares. It's kind of like collecting an hourly paycheck to rebuild my network. The guy who trained me so I could take over for him, literally closed the office door and went to sleep for half his shift.

I'm really not a fan of busting my ass on the railroad, even if it does pay well. So I had to make a move somewhere.

I should actually give credit to Uno for nudging me enough to get started again. I was able to salvage some really old backups from a fucked up hard drive and had a bit to work with. Got me around to re-establishing a couple of my old earners and bringing them back up to their glory. Now I'm building out some old plans I had made back in the spring that seem to be showing some early promise. Traffic is growing quickly, sales are already showing up, and I've been researching other new markets to move into. If all goes well I can kiss my slacks and tie goodbye by next summer, and get comfy with basement dwelling again. This time around I'll be managing things a lot differently. My hosting is paid up well in advance, I'm keeping up to date local backups of everything. On my HD, and burned to DVD-RW. I spend way more time researching things before I develop.

I'm looking at the past failure as an opportunity to start things over fresh and learn from where I fucked up this first time around. Taking a few months to think the previous years worth the experience over gave me the chance to realize key points where I had went wrong and to come up with a more defined gameplan. I'm going to take things a little slower and do them right this time. Hopefully. In an odd sort of way, as lame as my current crappy job is, it's actually teaching me a fair bit about management and organization while I do it. So I'm sure I'm picking up some applicable skills in the process.

Yes, I got a Computer Science degree. I was in this business for awhile and it was great during the gold rush years, but it hasn't been worth the effort in awhile.

How about lets clean house, and filter out the white collar crooks, cheating traffic brokers, and cheating payment processors! That will go a long way at bringing back some reward and integrity in this profession.

Go back to school and take some goddamn business classes...
I've never seen an industry like this with so many people who don't know even the most basic things about running a business....
There are community colleges all over the place that have basic business classes...for those who don't want to shell out the money for a full on degree...

Adult is not the only business ONLINE, you know...

There are many business, some require traffic, others don't...

Adult is only a small percentage of INTERNET COMMERCE.

So, If you fail in adult, you recommend quitting? It's like you live on a box dude.

I would recommend study other areas, rather than quitting.

Former education is also a good way. But you can do trial/error or self taught.

.
