to me, the system has always been flawed and i am surprised that there have not been more issues in the past..
how many events like this are going to be needed before stricter standards are put into place?

For those that do not know...
AIM tests performers as often as the performer wants to be tested. Usually the industry demands a test and verifies it on AIM's website which is not older than 30 days.
AIM does blood tests using the RNA method, as far as I know. They take longer to do, but react sooner after infection than anti-body tests. 9-11 days after infection they are positive.
The reason why so many people here complain about gay / straight performers is that with unprotected anal sex infection risk is 1-3% (1.7% one study says), and is the highest risk in sexual transmission. Female to Male transmission via non-anal sex is 0.04% and Male to Female is 0.08%. So anal sex is a LOT riskier (20 times compared to make to female).
But any anal sex in adult obviously is as dangerous. So I do not understand the hate against OC Modeling, makes no sense to me...
The thing I also do not understand is why people are so afraid. AIM acted perfectly as expected. All 1st and 2nd gen performers are quarantined. They will not get tests and so any real studio in the US will not shoot with them. Obviously there might be criminals out there, but then even mandatory condom use will not help since there will be as many criminals there too.
Not a single one of the tests of 1st and 2nd gen have returned positive for now. The system is working perfectly. Sure there is a risk in the industry because of the frequency of tests and the 9-11 days a test returns positive, but the risk is very very small compared to barebacking outside of the industry. Much smaller!
Even with condom use, I _bet_ this outbreak would still have happened, since patient zero obviously infected himself OUTSIDE of the industry..."Think about it a little more and you'll agree with me, because you're smart and I'm right."

Socks, as soon as AIM removes the quarantine. All our performers that we had scheduled were retested as far as I know right now, and none of them are positive, but we are still of course waiting. The 2nd test for anyone in the quarantine list will be next week as far as I understand, since it will be 99% accurate at that time based on when patient zero was tested positive.
We expect to know that everything is safe by no later than the 25th of this month unless there is another case.
We are also currently testing production crews in Europe and most of them are shooting as far as I know.
Any production we are involved in in Europe uses more screening though just to be safe right now, tests have to be very new for example, ie a few days old max."Think about it a little more and you'll agree with me, because you're smart and I'm right."

Well, put me on your ignore list too then. I feel sorry for the guy for the illness, but it isnt like a common cold. This fucker was engaged in risky behavior and it caught up with him. So because he was irresponsible, he has risked the health of untold others. The last thing I care about are his feelings at this point. He should be stigmatized, pointed out and ridiculed.My point exactly. As a person who has been around several close friends when they found out they were HIV+ and how just the stigma of the disease changes their lives even when they have no symptoms. In fact, none have developed AIDS. The depression, the suicidal tendencies, it is not a pretty sight and it changes their lives forever. It is not something you want to see a friend, or for that matter another human being, have to go through.
Already while I am reading this thread I cringe at the fact that if it is this guy who tested positive, he is being publicly outed and ridiculed in this manner. In what is already probably one of the most trying and difficult times of his life, he now is dealing with it in a very public way that must be absolutely brutal for him to endure.
