One of the best purchases in my life: 65" Plasma TV

Watched the "Predators" blu-ray torrent last night.

Well, while I really enjoy my 60" Sony I hardly think it would rank anywhere close to one of the top purchases of my life. It must be the additional 5".

I only have a 42" and a 32" tv. They are the LAST things I care about. I use the 42 to watch the Leafs, the Phillies (go Doc!) and I play Red Dead Redemption on it every now and then.

I'd be just as happy with a little 20" crt. Big screen doesn't help my teams win!

I bought a full hd projector for $2k, and a screen for $200. 240inch screen and looks damned good too

I don't think they make 240 inch screens for home use. Mine is 120'' and its already one of the biggest. From what I know, the biggest which uses a motor.

Don't rain on his parade.

A friend of mine had a projector and simply used a blank wall as a screen...worked pretty decently.

Got a 40 inch LCD, use it only for Modern Warfare 2 (PS3) and watching HD movies and series.
As I sit only 1.5 meters from the TV, it is more than enough...
By the way I think I will cancel my TV subscription...

ACTA has me scurrrred. I've been torrenting 5-10GB a day for the last week or so. Anything and everything I can get my hands on. Mostly TV episodes and movies. Stockpiling for the piracy apocalypse..

I have a full hd projector and I love it! In AZ I had a 106" fixed screen but my apartment is smaller so I have a custom made 92" that is very nice for the size of the living room.

I love my 52" LCD HDTV. DirecTV high definition tv channels look great on it. I don't like plamsas though. They are like looking at tv through a glass window rather than looking directly at the picture elements on an LCD, which looks so much crisper to me. Plus my HDTV also works great as a monitor for my P4 media server when playing local video files or streaming internet videos.

Projectors are where it is at. They smoke TVs.

Plasmas are much better for watching movies.

On LCDs, motion blur is really bad (sports and fast paced movie scenes)

it's not about money or rental costs. it's just so much less hassle to fire up torrent client and have the movies auto-loaded to your NAS.

My Sharp Aquos LCD doesn't even have top of the line specs and I still don't notice any motion blur. True, I don't watch a lot of sports except for MMA, but everything in movies and regular tv shows looks good to me.

I've got a plasma and and an LED, the LED just looks a little fake because it's almost too clear looking. I prefer the look of plasma, it looks sharp but still natural. It's a personal preference though.

72" TV's are like $2,300 now, priced less than the 65" used to be.

Catch up man, catch up.
