Look monkeys, you have ALWAYS been able to pay affiliates and shit with paypal. You can't sell adult sites and most adult services with paypal, b2b payments have always been fucking OK.

Are you all really in this business this fucking long without knowing the basic shit?

I hear what you are saying and have actually done it myself..............

HOWEVER, PP deleted one of my accounts simply because the email
was on an adult domain. I never even received any adult payments to that account.

Yes, they don't want porn in the domain. You and I figured this out, what, 8 years ago? lol

Adam_M 10-06-2010 12:19 AM

It's a good option but you need to be a little careful

kazbalah 10-06-2010 12:24 AM

My understanding of paypal, is they dont want to process payments for porn sites becuase of the high charge back rate.

Check with them, i have asked them before about accepting payments from adult web masters for a link directory and they said it was fine.

USA 10-06-2010 12:26 AM

no, thank you...

:thumbsup You just transfer money.

It's a standard reply from their list

#73 Affiliate payments question

And your question to them wasn't specific enough at all, 'online adult entertainment company' translated into tamil probably doesn't come out as 'porn'

Exactly. And how the fuck is it any different than Ebay's Adult section? People on there are selling tons of porn and are paying with and accepting Paypal payments.

HunkyLuke 10-06-2010 05:42 AM

I have sent them a request for information specifically saying PORN and affiliate payments...will report back once I get their response

Altwebdesign 10-06-2010 05:42 AM

theyre gonna freeze you and your friends

ajrocks 10-06-2010 05:45 AM

I wonder if PayPal wants to give back all the money they took from affiliates and programs when they shut down their accounts for being adult. They should GFY. Douche Bags.

I would not trust getting huge sums of money in there if I lived overseas and just wanted to use there card. I live in the US and can transfer money out of there pretty easily in a few days. So I wouldn't mind using it to get some payments. It is easier then waiting for checks and going to put them in the banks.

Wrong!!
I had a paypal account that was 100% squeaky clean. A sponsor I was working with, who used paypal a great deal sent me a couple thousand dollars to pay small expenses in his absence (ordering banners, buying domains etc.) Within 20 minutes of the payment being deposited they froze my account. The person that sent the money did not get their account frozen.

I called, emailed and did everything I could to find out what the problem was and was basically told that their TOS allowed them to freeze any account for any reason for investigation. They do not have to tell you what they are investigating and they can freeze your funds for 180 days (6 months). From everything I found on the net at the time, no one EVER got their money back before the 180 days was up. Strangely enough, 99% did get all of their money back and 100% were never told why their account was frozen.

In my case after 180 days my account was no longer locked but my funds were still frozen. I contacted them and they said that all I had to do was request the funds. I did, they released them within a day. I removed the money and haven't used the account since. It is almost as if they make you request the money hoping you will have just forgotten about it. I would never use them to accept payments.

I agree with you... the indian support guy didn't uderstand the term 'adult affiliate'

The information I am looking
for is very specific. I have thousands of affiliates that make sales to
our adult sites each month. We would like to use PayPal to make payments
to those affiliates who would like to receive their funds in that way.

They are not purchasing anything from us and we are not purchasing
anything from them. Simply paying them for the commissions they earn.
Would this be acceptable use by PayPal. I want to make absolutely
sure that this will not cause funds to be frozen by PayPal in the future
if we use this method as a payment option.'

Did you put a link to your 17 site in the email?

Show them some galleries and tell them it's for sign ups via this type of content onto a site full of this type of content.

SlammedMedia 10-06-2010 06:09 AM

I just wrote them a detailed email asking them. I also asked for an explanation on how eBay members can sell porn and use Paypal to accept payments -- I'll post their reply once I receive it.

Tjeezers 10-06-2010 06:20 AM

I fail to read in their replay some things. And therefor i think you got a Copy Past as a replay. The desk worker searched on the term AFFILIATES in his Q & A script, and does not confirm your situation as an Adult Company

Their answer avoids any words related to that, so I am not convinced this desk worker fully understood or acknowledged your business situation.

A more personal replay from there, where they also make a difference themselves about Adult Products and Adult Affiliates is what I need

Davy 10-06-2010 06:26 AM

I was selling a nude calendar with paypal two years ago. I could ask my contact from back then if they allow adult payments.
Since I am not going to use paypal for anything adult related, I'm not going to give this guy a call, though.

do you SEE a link in my e mail to them Paul? You quoted it so it should be easy to tell. I presented their reply, was asked to present the e mail I sent (actually what I filled out in the form on their site) and I did both.

>Individual payments cannot exceed $10,000.00 USD.
Considering the fact that there are programs sending out $200,000+ payments every 2 weeks this is a silly option.

Your response was silly.

They're sending out $200,000 dollars in "payments", but not as a single "payment".

maybe because ebay is an enviroment controlled by THEM, so they control what is being sold. with 3rd party sellers who knows when the ho is over 18 or not? they can only stop it by not allowing it. with ebay they just delete the shit.

adult on ebay = tangible goods. its a bit different from porn memberships. both of these instances are clearly covered in PP's terms.

I am not recommending them to anyone or promoting their use, simply transferring the information provided :)

take it or leave it, it does not matter to me

true but the question put to them (PayPal) was not in regards to memberships but specifically about affiliate payments. However, as many have pointed out I neglected to make some sort of declaritive statement in my question explaining that I work for a

"PORN COMPANY", one that "SELLS MEMBERSHIPS TO PORN SITE FEATURING NAKED PEOPLE HAVING SEX AND LIKING IT"

or maybe I should have said "OMG! EVERYTHING IS LITERALLY BATHED IN CUM, OH GOD THE HUMANITY! can you process payments to our PORN AFFILIATES FOR PORN PORNO PORN!"

Just so I could have been a bit more specific in my query since I must assume that whoever is reading the question I sent is actually a trained chimp in a far off country that heard someone say 'Hi' in English once but that was years ago
:1orglaugh
