I am trying the same thing, moving three from godaddy, unlocked all of them and when I try to transfer namecheap site says only one of them is OK (means unlocked) and other two are "clientupdateprohibited" for some reason! Fuck! What is going on?

give it a minute, godaddy doesn't always unlock the domains instantly.

Regardless of who's paying, for .COMs, yep, that promo is about $2.50 below registry / ICANN cost per domain!

I'm not a big fan of NameCheap due to their terms and conditions regarding suspending domains; eNom's TOS is pretty lousy too. Something to be aware of if transferring in domains of any questionable / controversial nature to them.
