Regardless of who's paying, for .COMs, yep, that promo is about $2.50 below registry / ICANN cost per domain!

I'm not a big fan of NameCheap due to their terms and conditions regarding suspending domains; eNom's TOS is pretty lousy too. Something to be aware of if transferring in domains of any questionable / controversial nature to them.

However with that all that said, NameCheap's interface and transfer process is very smooth and fast - out of curiosity, since I still had an old user account on their system, I transferred-in one domain to them with the $4.99 promotion, and was happily surprised.
