Bush knows that Sadam has them, he's just keeping it a secret from the weapons inspectors. He would much rather take in the troops on his word than actual proof????????? |

Everyone seems to be looking at this from the angle that they are untouchable, that no country would have the power to take on the US. Why would an attack have to come from a country as such....? Far easier to attack from within causing chaos. As soon as we go to war with Iraq, alongside the US, we will suffer this fate. When we were at war in the Gulf the first time, there was upset here... walls spray painted with 'Saddam the saviour' type bullshit and there were far less immigrants here then. There are far too many and even more immigrants here now, without being racist, that terroist cells blend in with, into our society without being notice. I don't really want to be living here when it does kick off..... wondering to myself if my neighbour is just being polite to hide the fact that he is a terrorist and wants to kill us all. When the threat lives alongside you, you don't exactly have a true target to retaliate against and it could well be too late. This was from Jan 7th News:- "Traces of a potentially fatal poison found at a house in north London have prompted the prime minister to reiterate that terrorism is a "present and real" danger. Ricin is a toxic material, made from castor oil seeds - which if ingested or inhaled - can kill. .... blah de blah" Face it, we are fucked if any of us go to war. This 'we' are untouchable bullshit is very blind even if it is patriotic. |
Amazing that people even start a discussion with an airhead like jammyjenkins.
The boy is against everything that he hasn't and will never get. A country like the US or west european countries won't sell their nukes. A fucked up country like N. Korea or Iraq will not use nukes anytime soon but they could sell them to terrorists who would love to use them. |

didnt read anything after page 1... its a good question, i agree with several answers that were covered. I think that it comes down to the country that has the 'power', sets the standard for what the rules should be. Other countries dont need to agree with us to sign treaties that we want them to sign. We have Ambassadors that lobby them, offer economic trade incentives and subsidies if they do, and subtle penalties if they dont. Cuba had a very rich economy before we placed the embargo in the early 60s due to the Cuban Missile Crisis. Russia had just placed nuclear warheads in Cuba, around 90 miles away. At the same time, we had no less than 5 different sets of nuclear weapons located in different countries surrounding the Soviet Union, within firing range of the Soviet Union. there is a good thread a while ago where Serge and Labret dealt with 'fairness' and what is fair to whom At the same time, being the current dominating world power, more is expected of us, so we have to be reasonable with our decisions, as we have shown to be in the past. that said, i am glad that I live in the US and that our government is protecting my interests. |

This is a ridiculous question...
We have nukes, lots of them, and that lets us dictate power. I believe if you look at history, the most powerful countries have alway exerted their considerable influence on the world, to their benefit I believe it falls under the category of human nature. We want things to advantageous to us...and have the technology and firepower to make sure it happens. I kinda chuckled when the size of populations and standing armies was mentioned...we have yet to deploy any of the "fuel air bombs" or other type weapons we have...troop strength and populations are of little consequence. Is it good? Bad? I don't know or care....I am just glad to be on the right side. Jammy- You are in left field, baby. By virtue of the US economic wealth we could stay in power for fifteen years, without dropping a bomb...get a ticket on the "get a clue" bus. |

15 years mark my words There will be a very different playing field on this planet then |
we(usa) can have them because we give aid to damn near the entire world. countries who dont contribute anything to the rest of the world, or at least the country in the UN shouldnt have nukes.

Check out "Bowling for Columbine".
It's focus is on Americans and their love of guns. It's all about fear baby...and Americans are the most fearful people on the planet. We're afraid of everything...so we just arm ourselves. Simple as that. Now if we arm ourselves and someone has what we have point at us...we're now afriad again, and the cycle starts itself over once again. We just one up our past efforts...in an attempt to feel secure. |
