I dont understand the justification here, stop trying to convince yourself and everyone else that bringing someone in on a $1 membership and then charging them $100 the 1st month is a non-shady business model. I dont care what your smalll print says , the consumer is gonna feel robbed for paying $100 when he clicked the join button on a site that said $1. Granted that guy may not charge back , but you better be damn well sure that he is gonna think twice about ever buying a adult membership again. Is that the best way to make bank? Convince all your potential future customers to not buy?

Its your business model and your gonna stick with it , but at least have the nuts to admit that what your doing is trying to suck as much cash off that 1 surfers card without him realizing. Thats called a scam, not a business model come to think of it.

I'm Dan, it's pretty obvious what I do for a living heh. Don't run any static adult sites, it's all about keeping the traffic flowing.

Since I have a mostly automated business I read a lot, post a lot, and try to middleman deals for friends of mine.

My speciality is ekeing out every last cent from a large # of crappy surfers per day. But I don't do it by taking their money, I gather information mostly. That's why I take exception to sites charging ridiculous amounts for 3-4 memberships at a time; less surfers I can convince to buy memberships to the sites I promote.

Plus if VISA cracks the whip again, no matter what I do in the adult industry, I WILL feel the sting.

I would suggest contacting him directly.. I have isreal banned on my program also.. but if I am contacted directly, I usually work wit the affiliate and set him up.

Like I said it is all about fucking everyone possible to make a buck. We are honest and don't fuck anyone and hopefully that will pay off someday. I think it would be safe to say if you fuck your surfers aren't you most likely going to fuck your webmasters also?

Word: Drops runs a good program within acceptable credit and chargeback ratios or he could have never been approved for pre-checked boxes. You don't just get that for askin'.

As for his billing model, wether I think it is a good idea or not, he's using avaiable tools which allow him to do it. IF his model gets too heavy with credits and CB's, he will lose his ability to use that model. It's his decision to try it out. It's our job to insure it does not get out of hand. And we will.

And a little info about pre-checks that might interest you. They are not what they are cracked up to be. Our data shows that the larger percentage (up to 75%) of pre-checked boxes are un-checked before submitting the form. Surfers are smarter than a lot of you cat's give them credit for.

Everybody should run a program with long-term goals. Drops might lose money on this deal or he might get rich. I'm sure everyone on this board has an opinion about that. There are other factors to think about, however. Even if you have to lose a little up front.

If he were being greedy he would be offering free signups that convert to $50 signups, then $500 signups all within 23 seconds. This game is about making money. Number one key in making money for a long time is making customers happy. Yes you can jump in a fuck the surfer over and make a quick buck. But it won't last. You want to talk about greedy. How is finding out exactly what your customer is surfing for and sending him to a high quality honest site with the content he wants being greedy? ITS KNOWING YOUR CUSTOMERS. Being greedy is popping someone for $100 they never expected.

That's fucking funny. He doesn't want all the money, or even if he does he is approaching the business in a way that doesn't hurt everyone. A porn surfer that is joining a site knows he is paying for porn. He is a porn customer. He'll probably be looking for porn for many years to come. Then he finds a site like drops and either a) Quits buying porn all together hurting everyone, or b) Stays the fuck away from sites like that. Your hurting the industry and you are hurting yourself.


drops, I understand where you are coming from. You found something that can make you a quick buck and you want to take advantage of it. Money is powerful like that. But just think for a minute what you would do if you as a new surfer stumbled onto a site like that and signed up. Personally, I would be bitching at whoever I could until I got my money back. When enough people do this you will have problems. This is giving Visa and others an open window to come in and put stricter regulations on shit like this. And by the way, I don't know how long you have been promoting this but chargebacks can take months to show up. The customer has to get their statement, call, wait for an investigation of sorts, etc. When you get a bill from your sponsor instead of a check for all the chargebacks that are possible you might understand.

Drops, myself, and many many many many programs both new and old are using, or converting to this method.
