Hi. I'm doing some research for a new product we are working on. We are building a dating/hookup site and are looking to offer a product that end users love. I was wondering who do you think are the top dating sites? I'm not talking about sites that convert and have fake profiles. I mean real dating sites that kick ass from the end user point of view. Is Plentyoffish the best?

It could be adult, mainstream, straight, gay whatever.

AFF has a ton of real people on it, as for mainstream I think match.com is still king.

bogus patent but it allows them to do that matching people on 29 points of compatibility

Match.com also has their premium version, Match Affinity.

With Match.com regular it costs to read/send messages but viewing pictures are free.

Match Affinity is more about personality and compatability. So a long test battery of questions are asked and based on your answers you receive certain scores. Those scores are later used to determine your compatibility with people you ar elooking for or are looking for you. First introductory message is free to send/read each user, then it costs. Also viewing pictures requires a membership.

They've done a great job on the mainstream side and seem to have made a good push recruiting affiliates from the adult side too.

I like the direct approach they have with their marketing targeting the "cheaters" niche. After setting up a profile and taking a look at the site the profiles seemed to be more believable than most adult dating site. Also they limited their email spam to only a few a week rather than the usual 5 to 10 a day.

Hell I think they've even got Mario as their A.M. now.
