I thought last year was bad enough starting at 1 in the morning... What was up with it this year? I may be mashing on some big toes here, but at 2:30 sure didn't look like it had really kicked off or was going to.

I had planned on going, but after the Gigamix party (started late and there was virtually nobody in there, and 1 old guy dancing), I decided the next night would probably be just as dead.

It's a long week of parties and once the first party sucks in the same venue, many people don't want to try again. The people are tired and most would rather spend time in the casino gambling or getting some rest for the plane ride home. I was a little upset that the VIP's at Gigamix ended up waiting outside while general admission was let in first. To me, thats bullshit, and a reason not to go back. Just for shits and giggles, how was the ballers ball? I'm sure it was probably a success since I'm just shooting my mouth off, but I'm still curious, damn it! |

So did anyone stay for the whole show? Did everyone advertised show up? I was really wanting to see and maybe meet, Ice-T and to see digital underground again.

I saw a few big sponsors just say fuck it and leave...won't name names...hell I even saw one kicked back downstairs because they closed off the 2nd level...I definitely won't name names. But even after getting in, I then had to wait about 30 minutes just to be told they didn't take cc's at the upstairs bar so I had to go downstairs that was another 30 minutes. Then the whole awards show..dayum man the names looked like they were scribbled out on some torn out notebook paper...it was a whole mess. Then Digital Underground tries to work it and they lose power...LOL I don't care if I step on toes because that party was the most worthless event I attended this whole show...I met more people, and got more biz and fun done at the ARS Gameworks show. A very wise man at the show told me that I didn't want to be a player but a player hater...and I concede he was 100% correct. |

The Gameworks party was fly, as usual. Would have done some seiously good networking if I hadn't been blasted as shit off the long islands that Hector the bartender was mixing.

I knew I should have went to Ball number one first (it started first, and I had clients to hook up with) then to the Pball...Aly and I hung out in D$'s suite for a while then went down with him....Line up, too fucking long!! I went to the circle/round bar, then went back an hour or two later!

Maybee the players ball wasnt good because the people putting the party together arent really "players" but just think they are?

So it looks like at least from the initial numbers, that people really don't care about the Players Ball, or at least won't after this. I talked with some Venetian staff members and they said that the C2K was a seperate business and under new management.

Several problems that I saw were, lack of security to do crowd control, not opening the doors on time, insufficient and poor quality staff at the bars. Anyone notice that there was no one checking passes for the upper floors to see if you had a VIP pass? Or was it just open to anyone this year? What use was a VIP pass anyway. I would love to have some of the people directly involved in the show throw their comments in here! |

There were alot of non-industry there, more than there should have been, that did suck a bit. The techno was great. Most of it was kinda old tho, and I couldnt help but laugh when the DJ's cd started to scratch during one of the songs.

All in all I had fun. Ron Jeremy sitting next to me in that vip area on the first floor, him having girls come up to him one after another. Fun experience. Now i'm gonna goto sleep for a .. few days

I thought the Players Ball was off the hook. Digital Underground rocked it for about an hour and a half, dropped some new music and even freestyled. Xzibit was there, he was off the hook, but still didn't drop it like Digital Underground. Ice-T wasn't there, but as far as I knew, he wasn't even showing up.

Also, I talked to a bunch of people that went to the Player Haters Ball, and they said it was fucked up and showed back up at the Player's Ball. Gameworks was off the hook, I had a kick ass time there, Dave's party at the crazy horse was cool, but I think a lot of people where pissed off and left because the club started charging $20 to get in and charging for drinks as well. That was at 11PM, and the party was supposed to include admission and drinks til 1 or 2AM. I dont think it was the sponsors fault though, I heard the Crazy Horse was fuckin the sponsors over and trying to make some cash. Maybe Dave will enlighten us on this one. Anyways, I thought it was cool Players Ball was off the Heazy! Hopefully someone will post some pics from it.

Seriously so far most of the comments about both parties are I heard this, or heard that. Funny how that goes. I did not make it the the Players Ball, but I am sure it was a great party - it is a giant effort to get that thing off the ground at all. |

Funny karma, DirecTV goes out of biz, I'm about to lose my internet service, and I get a lap dance and a few tokes at The Players Ball from an out-of-work DirecTV hottie trying to score some "DSL" work in Vegas... hehe... I felt kindof sorry for her so I told her that I don't pay for pussy -- then she called me her "boo" -- I shoulda slapped her pimp upside the head :p We got there kindof late to avoid all the lines and to chill... saw some people, took some pics, got to listen to several rappers... I was tired as fuck so I was happy it wasn't too "off the chain"... If you think 2:30am is too late -- yer missing out -- there wasn't one night where we weren't at parties all night till at least 6am...

I can't speak to this years Players ball because I was unable to make it...although all the previous years that I have been have been great.

However, I would have to say that the best parties, for me personally, were the small hospitality or room parties by invitaion. Got the most business done...could actually talk and there weren't a thousand newbies trying to get a shot of some crack whore on the sofa. IMHO |

Don't get me wrong... I KNOW these sponsers of the parties worked their asses off to make these parties a success. It's just that these asshole security fucks at C2K know how to fuck up a good thing.

I appreciate the parties they threw for us, and the effort that went into them. I had planned on going to the Ballers Ball, but security at Gigamix left a bad taste in my mouth. I live in Vegas, so I know that C2K is infamous for their shitty service...But keeping it in the motel was a smart decision. The whole thing is a double edged sword, but I put no blame on the sponsers...In fact, you all deserve a big |
