Actually at that size losing 100 is easy as it was gaining it... Losing the additional 80 is the hard part.

A good friend of mine was high 300s, now he is running marathons. Fucking amazing. If you don't mind, share your diet with us. What have you figured out is poison. I'm sure you are an inspiration to many. Keep it up! |

Must suck having to buy new clothes all the time though. You must be dropping waist sizes like crazy. Gonna have to buy suspenders, or maybe just wear elastic band jogging pants for a while until you level off. :winkwink:

Basically I was 466 lbs and had a nasty yeast rash under my belly. It was like having a paper cut from hip to hip. I had lost 100s of pounds before just to gain them back. So I really thought about what I had done before and why it didn?t work. One of the things that would happen was I would white knuckle it; starve and the weight would drop off quickly. Then I would start looking good. Then I would start eating and thinking, ?I?m normal now. I can eat like normal people.? And the weight would come back. Normal people can have a small piece of cake or a bagel and that?s it. For me it leads to a binge. This time I decided, ?I?m not normal and no matter how good I look I?m not normal.? I also couldn?t be the same person I was when I started out. If I was, I might as well keep the fat clothes. I decided certain foods were triggers and would never touch my lips again. I had eaten enough of them to last a lifetime anyway.
The following are foods I took out: ice cream cookies cake bread sugar pasta potatoes I also started supplementing with Alpha Lipoic Acid and chromium to keep my blood sugar stable. Now some foods are ok, but at certain times they are not. For example, I find if I eat a banana first thing in the morning, I?m hungry throughout the day. Not like, ?I forgot to eat lunch? hungry, but like an empty pit that can never been filled. But if I have it in the afternoon as a snack, it?s a non-issue. I?ve become very sensitive to my body. Also, when I saw foods I didn?t want to eat any more, I would tell myself, ?This is poison.? I don?t count calories, but I?m very aware of what I put in my mouth and why I?m putting it in. I?m working on dealing with emotions differently. Not smiling and then going home and eating a pizza. I also include protein powders and bars. I?m not a big ?make breakfast? person, so they work. I also didn?t want to make a plan for myself that only worked in a perfect world. I dont live in one. Six meals a day sounds nice, but I knew three is something I could stick too. I didn?t start exercising until I hit 140 lbs lost. At 466 lbs exercising wasn?t going to work and I would stop. It was very important to only have successes in the beginning and no failures, because I knew myself. Failure would lead to, ?Well today is already screwed up, so let?s eat cake.? Just losing the 140 lbs increased my fitness level dramatically and in many ways it?s like having a new body. I believe in slow and steady. I didn?t gain it overnight and I?m not going to lose it overnight. Also a lifestyle is forever. After the first month it has been pretty close to craving free. My friends eat cake, cookies and other assorted crap in front of me. It means nothing to me, because I see it as poison. I also believe weight loss is a solo activity and if there is a real commitment to change, no one can temp you. If things are temping to you then it?s time to look at what you?re doing, because diving into bowls of ice cream isn?t far away. |
Wow Awesome

i am sure you have had to overcome a lot of pain to make this goal... keep it up until you reach your goal... . |
Good luck man, you may consider having your endocrine / adrenal system looked at in the meantime. Testosterone, estrogen, thyroid, cortisol, etc.
Higher fat leads to higher estrogen, which will lower testosterone and make it even more difficult to lose weight, maintain your libido, keep a hard on, and can even make you a mess emotionally. A hypothyroid condition could also make it twice as hard for you as anyone else to exercise / stay on track because your metabolism isn't working as effectively as it should be. This could also lead to serious problems with motivation, concentration, brain fog, and depression / apathy. If you feel fatigued all day, as if you could go right back to sleep after being up for a couple of hours, it's worth taking a look at. A lot of doctors dismiss complaints of "I'm always tired" and never examine underlying reasons. They just say, get some more rest. I'm not saying there is anything wrong, but you've made it this far and you don't want to ignore the possibility of something you weren't aware of, that you can control, getting in the way of your goal. |
If I lost 180 pounds I would disappear into thin air.
|
WOW! And I was feeling really good about my 45 pounds lost since new years ..... until I read this thread! :Oh crap
I want to lose another 60-70 pounds still .... You are motivational to say the least!! CONGRATS!! :thumbsup |
