There are no hidden restrictions. These are unmetered server which means the port is not restricted to a certain amount of throughput. If you have a hosting account with let's say 5 Mbit. The host can limit the port to 5Mbit and if it goes over you are forced to get charged. If you are doing a ton of bandwidth there will obviously be a per Mbit charge. This is unmetered, not unlimited.

Thanks

Justin

Yes ofcourse we have an AS#

No Webair is not near our main location. Webair can verify this. We do have multiple locations at which one is a Telex type of location where it is just for cage rental space. This is a place that houses many different providers in order to do cross connectivity (which I believe we are running some with Webair). But we do not rent do not rent or have anything to do with this.

We also do cross connects with many other providers at many other locations. You can see that on this page. This is common place in the webhosting industry.

http://www.galaxyvisions.com/providers.php

If you look at the contact page, that would be the secondary location.

https://www.galaxyvisions.com/contact_us.php

The main location is our own facility. Which you see in the datacenter pictures on the website. Those pictures are not of some place where we rent space. We are actually in the middle of making the space bigger right now.

You can see all of our providers of bandwidth here

http://www.galaxyvisions.com/technology.php

You can also read there that we are running BGP. You cannot run BGP without an AS#.

An AS# really doesn't mean much. Anyone can get one.

If you want I can give it to you and you can check ARIN. It has been registered since 2003

I think I just ICQd it to you but not sure if it is the same ICQ you had from before.

So what is the data transfer allowed per month on the unmetered port?

The port itself is a 100Mbit port.

We will not ask to speak about bandwidth pricing until you are consistently doing more then 10Mbit steady.

What does this mean? You first stated it was unmetered. But you will "speak about bandwidth" once someone is doing 10 Mbits?

might want to clarify that. When webmasters hear unmetered that usually means the price is not going to change because it is not "metered".

I think you are mistaken unlimited with unmetered.

Unlimited would be you are getting as much bandwidth you can get for the price paid

Unmetered means we have not set a limit on bandwidth on your account.

If on a daily basis you are running 5Mbit-7Mbit and then one day you do 15Mbit and then you do 9Mbit the next day. You are not going to get overage charges for the 15Mbit. (this is an example)

Typically if you have a 10Mbit limit. Anytime you go over this there is automatically an overage charge on your account.

What I mean by talk about bandwidth is if you are consistently doing a lot of bandwidth. We are not simply going to charge you right away. We will contact you and work out pricing for your account. We do not want to just say hey you are doing to much. You owe use X amount of dollars pay up now.

I hope this explains it a little better. If you have any questions please feel free to hit me up on ICQ 224758164 of email me [email protected]. If you are currently doing a lot of bandwidth. I will do what I can to earn your business.

Here is some information about hosting terminology from wiki

95th Method: line speed, billed on the 95th percentile, average or peak usage, refers to the speed in which data flows from the server or device. Line speed is measured in bits per second (or kilobits per second, megabits per second or gigabits per second).

Unmetered Method: The second bandwidth measurement is unmetered service where providers cap or control the “top line” speed for a server. Top line speed in unmetered bandwidth is the total Mbit/s allocated to the server and configured on the switch level. For example, if you purchase 10 Mbit/s unmetered bandwidth, the top line speed would be 10 Mbit/s. 10 Mbit/s would result in the provider controlling the speed transfers take place while providing the ability for the dedicated server owner to not be charged with bandwidth overages. Unmetered bandwidth services usually incur an additional charge.

Some hosting accounts have a per Mbit bandwidth charge and your account is charges as such.

Some have unmetered. Where you are getting a certain amount for a certain price.

Our unmetered servers come with 10Mbit of transfer (which is a good deal for the prices I am quoting here even if you are paying the lowest rates in the business, if you include the hardware and managed service we provide)

If you are consistently doing more then this. We will work out a fair plan for you.
