We hope that this payment method does not cause anyone any inconvenience. Although we apologize for the delay in initiating these payments, we are very proud of the fact that we have made these payments even though we have not received payments due to us.

Funny how everything is OK when the last payment is made.

But the fact still remains.

Affiliates that have galleries archived arent getting credit for this traffic. Many TGP's do not allow submitters to change the gallery after it's submitted.

So a program must stay open for the rest of Internet life?

While I understand frustration, it seems a bit reaching. I'd say getting the final payout is well and good for any program.

that's why you always link out trough a script so you can change your links in case something like this happens. It's amazing that after all these years affiliates are still using their affiliate codes to link to sponsors and then bitch when they have to manually edit links!

I would sympathize with your post but...

Closing up shop means taking the sites down. Servers shut off. Links are dead dead dead dead.

I see WEG Cash links redirecting to Dating sites and such. So WEG Cash will continue making $$ from affiliate traffic.

Yes I was an affiliate. I didnt have payouts or much money to speak of. I actually told Gabe to keep whatever was in there. I knew he had bigger problems.

Maybe because they apparently already bounced checks? And considering who it was to, I'm guessing it wasn't for a few dollars.

kudos to them for sending the payment. I actually sent Gabe an email asking him to pay me through epass because cashing checks is inconvenient at the moment, i wonder if i am pushing my luck too far...

Anyway i am surprised they sent the payment. In my books they made it right and if they started another company i would have no problem working with them again, i do not understand why other people are still complaining.

This has got to be the most ridiculous statement I have seen. They gave short notice on shutting down there program, they are still pushing the traffic that is being sent from links that affiliates took time to place and not compensating them for it.

It is good that they paid. To say you would do business with them again is the reason why this cycle never ends. They will open up another program for a few years. Make some money. Gets tons of people to put links up. Shut down program and keep traffic again. Then do it over and over and you will still do business with them? That doesn't add up.

I?d do business with them again in a heartbeat. In the real world businesses often close shop with little or any notice to the employees, customers, and contractors. They paid the last payments owed, and I suspect those came out of their personal funds. Legally speaking they did not have to if the company itself is insolvent. Over the years I did tremendously well with WEG I suspect they paid me somewhere in the 200k range in affiliate commissions over the three years I promoted them. They definitely don?t deserve to be lumped in with some of those others who simply ran a short term scam operation took the money and ran.

You can't compare internet marketing to the real business world. In the real world. The physical doors clothes they sell off the assets. They don't keep the employees there without paying them. Which is basically what happens when you are redirecting all the traffic that is being sent by affiliate links without compensating them for it.

If you close down, close down.

I am all for them paying affliates. It is more then what 98% of all the other programs that have closed has done. But they are still monetizing other peoples traffic without paying them for it.

When you talk about assets in the real world mainly you?re talking about real estate, and any remaining unsold inventory. The real estate is usually sold to satisfy the commercial mortgage holder and by the time that is done there is nothing else left. The unsold inventory usually goes back to the wholesaler/manufacturer as that stuff is usually isn?t paid for until it is sold. All that is really left after that is used fixtures and or used office furniture so the employees are lucky if they get pennies on the dollars owed.

This is true. But the companies dont keep making money from work employees have done. They just close down. Here WEG Cash is utilizing work that affiliates have done to monetize it for there own benefit without compensating the affiliates. That is the point. Forget all of the selling of assets.
