Does anyone know what this pipe in the garage is for?
This dumb cunt pulls into the garage last night and nearly drives through the fucking wall which leads into the master bedroom. Thankfully she only managed to hit and break this PVC pipe and send it through the wall into the bedroom.
Problem is I have no idea what it's used for but it's obviously not in use because it has spider webs and shit inside it. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Looks like there may have been a sink there at one time? Or perhaps an air pipe for the sewage line, they go to the roof generally. Otherwise can't tell from just the pics, would need to be physically in the house to see the layout etc.
Good luck though. |

looks like a drain pipe and two capped water lines. probably had a wash basin in there at some point.
better make sure the pipe is fixed, otherwise you'll have stinky sewer gas venting in there.

Gas.... Its either an old pipe that was sealed off ready for reuse as maybe electric is used now or because its been moved to another area.
Or it could be a simple water pipe.. but I have seen this in kitchens where the old cooker used to be before now. Last edited by ArsewithClass; 09-07-2010 at 03:22 PM.. Reason: Added it could be water as not to worry! |

It's not gas, but it could leak sewer gas if it is an old drain.

It looks like it is so you have the options of putting a sink/washer dryer in your garage.

The person who studies the pipe will know how to fix it.
There has to be a person associated with every pipe and thing that needs fixing. I studied pipes in water heaters.

2 small lines are hot and cold cpvc supply lines
large one is sewer drain pvc, unscrew it and take whiff ;-) definitely was for a utility sink based on the height from the floor a washer would have been much higher, however you could raise the sewer line and install a p trap (so sewer gas does not escape) the sink that was there had the p trap under the drain of the sink basin. you also would want to raise the supply lines so you don't have to reach behind to turn off the water) if you want to install a washer there definitely not anything to do with a natural gas or propane line as others have suggested |

Looks to be old drain pipe, evidenced buy two water supply lines next to it.
If your not going to use it, do seal it back up so the sewer farts do not come back and Haunt ya. I would also suggest re-enforcing that wall. Or not inviting that woman over again..

hot cold water + drain.. NO washer dryer, you'd have a 110V outlet and a 220v as well + Dryer vent..
So : SINK ![]() |

Looks like they had an outdoor sink, shop sink of some kind. For working in the garage. Small drain though, should be 2 1/2 inches.

![]() ![]() And yes, They are more likely to be hot & cold with a waste in the middle. The middle pipe looked a lot smaller when I first looked at the photos. I've never seen a water pipe with the square block on the end, which is why I thought of gas ![]() |

Here all your gas lines are black iron pipe. BV is 100% correct The small ones are cpvc (hot on the left cold on the right) and the 1 1/2 one is the drain. Just dont break off the small ones
