banner rotation question
I have set up a script for rotating banners on top of my main page....how many banners from each sponsor should I put in rotation...lets say I have 4 sponsors...should I put only 1 banner from each sponsor (and keep like this for a month and then change these 4 banners) or should I use more banners from each sponsor at the same time?

We have a banner rotation script, and it keeps very good track of which banners are being clicked and which are not. We have several sponsors, and several banners (probably about 30 - 40 different ones).
We send a shitload of traffic to the site, and just delete the banners (not necessarily the sponsors) that are not clicked on all that much. The top clicked banners stay, the least clicked are gone. Of course just because a banner is clicked on the most doesn't mean the site converts...that is a whole different thing. If I was you, I would download about 5-10 banners from each sponsor and rotate them all at the same time. Get rid of the ones that don't get clicked on. Keep the ones that do. Then start checking your stats to see which sponsor is converting your clicks and go from there. Hopefully you have enough traffic coming to the site that it will only take a few days to eliminate the bad banners. p00p |
