He will get reelected because the other parties can't prove he hasn't improved things...and he can prove it has, other than maybe jobs but I'm sure that will turn around in another couple of years, either way presidents have been reelected again with low jobs.

Did I ever say that Bush acted presidential?

I'm a Dem and I voted for Obama. This has nothing to do with previous Presidents or right wing/left wing politics. My point was it would be nice if the President of The United States actually acted like it and wasnt found on daytime TV gossiping about a former first daughters wedding.

Thats the problem, god forbid someone point out something or state an opinion. Instead of just debating the merits of appearing on a day time talk show you then compare him to previous Presidents and their actions.

You mean the same Boy Scouts that have turned into a hate mongering machine since The Mormons siezed control of it in the early/mid eighties and made religion a focal point?

The Boy Scouts that will not let in homosexuals or athiests?

One's perspective makes all the difference.

I'm satisfied with him so far as I tend to see the " what could've been " aspect of our situation. We are lucky to not know first hand just how bad things might have actually got for us. More than ever we witnessed and learned just how intertwined things are and how easy it would be for things to snowball into a catastrophic state. We also saw how the problems of the US affect other countries.

I think the free fall part has been stopped and we just need to collect ourselves before taking the long hard steps towards the top again.

A huge steel ball bearing, 30 feet in diameter, is rolling DOWNHILL toward you, and it's moving very fast! It's also rolling towards the American people. You brace yourself to stop it, but it rolls over you.

Even though another man pushed that boulder and started it rolling down the hill, because you were unable to stop it, everybody blames YOU for it.

That's a very simple analogy of Obama getting blamed for the boulder Dubya pushed down the hill.

FYI: I voted for McCain, and have only voted non-Republican once (voted against Dubya's second term), but I don't drink the Republican cool aid of blaming Obama for problems Republicans should have prevented from ever happening.

I hate answering a question with a question but you don't think the economy is better then it was a year ago? Consumer spending was up overall, and GDP growth has averaged 3.5 percent over the last three quarter.

Ignore the liberals on here, they're in this business for a reason. They're insecure and lack any kind of common sense, so if you don't like Obama, you're either racist, or you want him to fail!

Where do you get your economic knowledge from exactly? The economy is a lot worse than last year. The GDP growth is irrelevant if it's fueled by the public sector and government stimulus. Consumer spending is also down, showing once and for all that Bernanke and the other keynesians are morons who think throwing money at the problem fixes the problem. The dollar is worse. The only thing good is gold is rising against the fears of inflation, which is inevitable. Obama knows less about economics than Bush.

My hate is over the growing size of the government and regulations and the decline of the private sector

And yet the unemployment rate stays around 9.5% while the size of the government grows by 25%.
The only reason the unemployment rate has dropped is because it's made up of people getting unemployment, not the true numbers of people that aren't working

The Gov has been growing for a 100 years... it has grown under every President in your life. And yet, your life is far better than your parents was. What about a larger Gov has actually hurt you or your freedoms?

What regulations have been put in that are bad? It's pretty clear that a lack of regulations has caused many various problems throughout history, let alone in recent economic times. While I would love every market to be open and unregulated, it simply isn't possible.

You don't think it would be a larger decline in the private sector if he didn't step in? So no company is better than a company owned by the citizens of the Country that still produces wealth?

Yes the unemployment rate have been skewing like this for many years now. Other Presidents have extended benefits before as well, it's not anything new. It didn't kill our Country when Republicans did it, it won't kill it now.

And yes, many people aren't working... However, new jobs are being created. Not gov jobs, actual private sector jobs. And jobs are the 'very last' thing to improve. No reason to expect a real turn around in jobs for at least another year.

.... point is still, shit is going pretty damn good right now. It's not perfect, nobody should expect it to be.

The fact that the government has grown with every president does not make it right, it makes for taxes to pay for it, simple math. Or are you saying that more people working for the government will magically pay for itself?

Or that 40,697 new laws were passed at the beginning of the year and not knowing them is not an excuse in the court system, do you know all of them?

Private sector jobs are not being made, they are still loosing jobs,

Initial jobless claims drop to 457,000 , you're going to have to prove to me that losing 457,000 jobs is a good thing and going in the right direction

Yep, taxes have grown and so has your ability to make wealth. Give and take, part of the game.

I don't need to know 99% of them, and that 1% that 'might' effect me, won't. They 40k laws get stacked with the other million laws in every State, City, County and even Country of the World. If I visit Canada, do I have to learn the million or so laws they have? Nope, no reason to. Either way, this is a lame ass reason to hate the Gov or even throw any flack towards this admin - it's for damn sure not anything new.

I did say we're still losing jobs, however your claim is things aren't getting better - and that's not true. Jobs are being created and they are being created in the private sector.

Quote from the url you posted: " which indicates that private employers likely added about the same number of jobs in July as they did last month."

We are adding jobs and first time job loss claims dropped again - again, clearly things are getting better.

I turned on my TV to view this travesty at which point in time the TV began to smoke, spit sparks, emit foul odors and shortly thereafter melted down.

I had the "Bullshit!" filter turned onto high and the poor flatscreen just couldn't handle it.

DAMN!

Gotta go buy a new TV now!

Sally.

I found this particularly hilarious and proof that liberals are retarded. Expansion of the public sector by way of census working does NOT constitute as adding jobs. Job loss claims drop only when people are forced out of the workforce. This was revised a few years ago to make it seem less dramatic but every month more and more people lose their jobs. You should get your head checked out Doc.

Dr. Moron, as already stated many times... Everything is running perfect and jobs are the last thing to return.

US bailouts prevented 1930s-style Great Depression say economists

New study by economists Mark Zandi and Alan Blinder says US economic stimulus averted a worse downturn

To Washington conservatives they were egregious examples of "big government" overreach, but the White House's economic stimulus and bailout policies have saved 8.5m jobs and averted a further slump of 6.5% in US economic output, according to a study by two influential economists.

An in-depth modelling exercise by Moody's chief economist, Mark Zandi, and a Princeton University expert, Alan Blinder, paints a bleak scenario of a 1930s-style Great Depression if the US government had enacted none of its $1.7tn (£1.3tn) programmes to avert a financial meltdown.

Using historical statistical relationships and a focus on the government's impact on narrowing credit spreads, the pair found that the downturn would have continued into 2011, with unemployment peaking at 16.5% rather than last year's actual high of 10.1%.

They believe US gross domestic product would have slumped by 7.4% in 2009 and by 3.7% in 2010, producing a "peak to trough" decline of 12%, rather than the anticipated 4%. Starved of demand, shops and employers would be cutting prices and wages.

"With outright deflation in prices and wages in 2009 to 2011, this dark scenario constitutes a 1930s-like depression," says the study, entitled How the great recession was brought to an end".

Thwarting stiff opposition from Republicans in Congress, the Obama administration introduced an economic stimulus package of more than $780bn last year, adding to giveaways of $170bn by the Bush administration in 2008 that included tax refunds to tens of millions of Americans. Adding in banking-bailout measures of $600bn and smaller programmes such as the "cash for clunkers" scheme and a rescue of insurer AIG, total commitments by the US government reach $1.7tn.

rest here

Damn Obama ....

You forgot the pictures of Bill getting his dick sucked in the Oval Office...that's acting presidential!

Also the Reagan picture is from a corespondents dinner in which all presidents take shots at the media...no harm no foul but i can see where you would make the mistake seeing how your hate outweighs common sense.

And the Bush pic, like hes the only one that's ever lost there balance on a segway.

No it's not. Modern Liberals are by natural, stupid and insecure. And as such, they need validation/rationalization for their stupidity and beliefs. For instance, if you don't like Obama, you're racist and you just want him to fail. Forget about the fact that the majority of people don't like Obama for legitimate reasons and are objective, but Liberals need to be able to sleep better at night. Their stupidity is well known and documented.
