"That's why copying is funnn!"

I don't know, some guy in Germany copied one of my sites years ago and was making money using my hard work. It wasn't fun and I didn't much like it, nor did I put up with it.

So I'd have to agree, whoever this chick is she's a moron.

Someone should take her video, remove her name from it and replace it with someone elses, and direct viewers to a copied website that benefits anyone else but her. I wonder if she'll still thing that "Copy-ING" is fun?

I saw a documentary on IFC a few weeks ago. I don't remember the name exactly but it was something like "Remix Manifesto". It was all about this DJ who remixes other songs and makes money playing his stuff at parties. It was more or less a 2 hour rant about why he feels that he shouldn't be sued into oblivion , and how "His Creations" are "His Property" and never would have come around without "his creative input". Of course at the exact same time, he's bitching because he does not want to pay royalties to the owners and creative peeps who own the sound samples he takes. Like, shut up asshole. Just stupid.

Hopefully that video was being sarcastic.

If it's serious, then whoever made it needs a lesson in the basics of business economics.

Copyright infringement is not theft or stealing in the strict legal use of the word, but it is the unauthorized usage of intellectual property without compensation to the author. That's not very fun for the person making content and trying to live off of it.

No new James Bond movies will be made anymore.
Where's the fun in copying now?
For movies it's different then music; artists make most money from live concerts and licensing for stuff like T-shirts and baseball caps, not cd sales.

The current film has been put on hold. Nothing more, nothing less.

So say that we'll never see another Bond film is asinine.

Piracy threatens Europe's creative industries, Study predicts related loss of 1.2 million jobs by 2015.

March 17, 2010, 05:44 PM ET
NEW YORK -- The creative industries are "a crucial source of jobs and growth" in Europe, but are under threat from piracy, according to a study released Wednesday.

Industry union representatives used the findings to call for increased regulatory protections for the entertainment sector.

The study predicts piracy-related losses of as many as 1.2 million jobs and €240 billion in retail revenue by 2015 in the creative sectors most impacted if current trends continue and no significant policy changes are put into place.

In 2008, the most affected parts of the creative industries, namely film, TV, recorded music and software, experienced retail revenue losses of €10 billion and lost more than 185,000 jobs due to piracy, the study found.

It was presented by Paris-based economics firm Tera Consultants at a press conference in Brussels.

Funny thing is that 1.2 milion wellfare checks will have to be paid by...the downloaders in the end thru taxes

That can't be true!

For one thing gideongallery didn't copy/paste it from a torrent sites "news" section so therefore it must be false. Don't you realize that gideongallery has told everybody that stealing shit is responsible for a GAJILLION DOLLAR ECONOMY???
Everybody is getting rich by having their stuff stolen and used by other people for free

You must not have gotten the memo. Hell, I'll bet every big paysite just made another million dollars this minute by having people steal their members areas and post it for free on a torrent site.

gideongallery timeshifted the glass on his infinite storage on the cloud. Then he made a parody of the glass and monetized it with the new revenue stream via fair use.
And now that he has stolen the glass...the glass is now a millionaire!

Tell that to college's. So if what this whore is singing about is true, then there is no problem copying a term paper & passing it around for the entire class to use. Im sure the prof will be singing that song as he is grading the papers whilst giving out all A's

Copying is so fun.

I am printing money right now. Don't be angry at me. I am not stealing your money. You can keep your (real) money and I will spend these new copies.

I will print ten trillion and buy all the food and fuel in your country. Dont be surprised if food and fuel prices increase (due to shortages) after I buy everything in the stores with my copy money.

Still, you have your own (real) money. I wont touch your money. So, dont be mad at me. Copying is fun (for me, not for you).

The positive thing about the number of pirate-idiots who believe they are not doing anything bad is that governments start to get pissed when their money-generating industries are destroyed. Those brainwashed copy fools will be used as free labour in state prisons.. They will end up as society's slaves one day.. I hope!
