Formula 1 2003
Two months until the first race. Anyone willing to bet against another season of Ferrari-Schumacher dominance?

If Ferrari can maintain their reliability record with Schumacher, they will be a hard team to beat.
I really feel for Rubens however, he deserves a good season after what he endured in '02. |

smart money is definitely on Ferrari.
Schumacher may dominate, but i could see his rival finally ousting him.

I don't feel sorry for Rubens at all....he knew what he was getting into when he signed up: 90% of resources for MS, 10% for Rubens. |

On a related note...any thoughts on the new scoring system??? On one hand, I hate to see points devalued at the highest level of motor racing. On the other hand, it would be nice to see minardi grab 8 points.

Regardless, I agree 100% that Ferrari is on top for the next season. Williams/BMW has the engine but does not have the chassis/tyres. McLaren has a good chassis but a weak engine. Renault and Toyota have good engines, but need to sort out their chassis. And what the hell is with honda??? |

Toyota will be fun to see this year, they have some shit coming.
Montoya is about as talented as they come, he'll clock at least a win this season. Williams announced that they were debuting a 'revolutionary' car in Australia, plus with Michelin able to supply differnt compounds to each team, both Williams and Mclaren should be more competetive, ya think?

Anybody that thinks Schumy won't take the championship (barring a major accident) is crazy and has never really followed the sport.
They could race with the 2002 car and still win, it really is just that damn good. If you've had a chance to see it on the track, you'd know how stable it is coming out of a corner, which is something it used to suck at just 2 years ago. The ferrari car right now is the best. It won't be beaten this year. The real battle is the next 3-5 spots on the constructor's championship. Williams or McLaren. My money's on Ron Dennis' crew to take the 2nd place. I think/hope Coulthard will have a solid season, and Raikonnen is really that damn good. Cool under pressure and can be aggressive when he needs it. I'm a huge fan of JP Montoya, but I don't have faith in the car. Sauber... man... They are the new Jordan. They're always "close" to join the top 3 pack, but always falter. The new Petronas engine should be enough to give them some points to claim 4th position. 5th will go to Renault, there was some good results at the end of last season 6th will be Toyota 7th Bar (with Honda leaving Cart and dropping Jordan, they should have the manpower to get a better engine out there) 8th Jordan And to make an upset, I'll say Minardi will have more points than Jaguar. Jaguar finishes last. anybody else gonna miss Spa-Francorchamp? I will, man to see the guys go down Au Rouge, sad to know that track is off the list this season.

I liked Rubens when he was able to squeeze some great results from the Stewart car years ago, but since he signed with Ferrari and "tows the company line" I've lost respect for him. I used to think that he'd be a good #1 driver, now I know he has the talent to be #1, but the mentality of a #2.
Let's look back to the real winners of this sport. None have ever accepted being #2. You shouldn't. I think what Eddie Irvine has said about Rubens in the past is true. Same deal with Coulthard. I think he's got talent, he always has had talent. He was just never able to get the metal game together, other than the stint after his plane crash, which for whatever reason made his race like everybody knows he can. Can't wait to see what DaMatta will do in Toyota this year. ![]()
