My brother does the same and he knows exactly where everything is. I once simply did an 'order by name' on his desktop and he went apeshit because he couldn't find a thing. Took him about 30 minutes to move everything back to where he wanted.

I have 10 icons/folders on my desktop. Everything is buried in subfolders...

then again I can never find anything. I only move stuff onto my desktop when I need to find it quickly to upload it so I don't have to dig through a bunch of folders to get to it.

I am about as unorganized as he is, just nothing is kept on my desktop.
