I'd give it some time, you posted at 11p last night and it's noon now (according to my time), so only 13 hours when most are sleeping.

Also, it's the weekend .. I'm sure you'll get more views/responses later this weekend or early next week.

I just saw the thread. You are looking for a highly qualified very specialized individual, not many people around that can handle all of that and still know what they're doing. And odds are... a person like that doesn't need to be working at midnight on Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Give 'er a couple days.

Don't take the following sentence personally but :

"Fuck you nasty ass non-paying, big mouth, ungrateful, amateur employer, with no real
world experience who have the idiocy to call programmers "coders".

If someone is looking for a coder then they ain't looking for me.
They are looking for someone to act like talent and be spit on.

Then there is all the board drama about "my programmer flaked!"
People hire 3rd world tripe with no talent and then complain that "they flaked".

The flake is the dumb ass that thinks a $1200 job is going to get done correctly in
some back-wood cave for $150.

When someone post a "my programmer flaked thread" what they are really posting
is a "I don't fucking know how to hire thread".

1. No one flaked
2. The workload is too much for one person.
3. it would pay pretty well.
4. if I spoke wrong and called a coder a programmer, I am sorry. I thought it was interchangeable. Ergo, my reason for needing a programmer; because I am not one.
5. I'm the wrong guy to get into an argument with. Not because I'm bad ass, but simply, I just refuse to insult you, or insult my own intelligence by engaging.
All the best,
Duke

Duke, I said "do not take this statement personally"".

It's not directed at you, it's just the truth about the situation as a whole.

There is more money outside of adult and a lot more respect for the work.

from inside the industry you won't find a really competent in house programmer for much less than 100K salary. best to look outside the industry.

There's a hiring section on gfy?

Sortie's spot on here though. I may not be the best programmer out there but I haven't posted a "looking for a gig" thread in about 8-10 months on GFY, for a reason. I've met some awesome people off here (Pointer Lindsay, Dito, Mutt) but overall time/money ratio is hard to compare to mainstream jobs.

Everyone seems to always look for a deal and complain how expensive it is to hire people. And of course as soon as someone says that programming is expensive, another person comes in boasting about their amazing $5/hr Ukrainian programmers that never miss a beat.

And that's just a regular programmer. Duke is also looking for someone with extensive NATS and Carma knowledge, and there aren't many "programmers" that can do that. I know we have eight in-house programmers on staff at TB and none are versed in NATS that well. You will either find a NATS guy or a programmer, not both.

Maybe Fabien is back available for hire? ; )

Never checked it - it could actually be useful to let the serious hiring opps run for a limited time on the main board, before they are moved to the "hiring" section.
