A little something from The Onion

- Homoerotic Overtones Enliven NRA Meeting

COEUR D'ALENE, ID--Repression was the order of the day as the
National Rifle Association's North Idaho Chapter held its annual
convention this weekend.

More than 25,000 dedicated gun lovers from across Northern Idaho
flocked to the Coeur d'Alene Convention Center for the two-day event,
happily sublimating homosexual impulses amid a carefully maintained
facade of platonic camaraderie.

Moscow, ID, resident Richard Hoflinger, 47, a longtime
gun-rights activist, proudly exhibited the collection of antique
rifles through which he has channeled his culturally unacceptable
impulses. "Guns should be part of any upstanding Christian family,"
Hoflinger said, sticking a long, thick, oily pipe-cleaner 14 inches up
an 1886 Remington.

In the next booth, another latent gay man, Duane Erlich of
Sandpoint, moved his hand slowly up and down a well-polished 1948
Winchester. "Ain't she a beautiful baby?" Erlich said, displaying the
kind of feminization/infantilization of firearms for which NRA members
are renowned.

Erlich then demonstrated the proper loading procedure for his
"baby," lovingly inserting a pair of bullets into the dark,
snug-fitting tunnels before thrusting the gun's bolt smoothly into the
action, cocking it firmly. "This'll blow a man straight to heaven," he
said.

The tone of the event was set by chapter president John Henry
Unger, whose opening remarks cited the "wonderful variety of weaponry
on display, from little snub-nosed pieces that fit snugly in your
pocket to big, meaty shooters with barrels as thick as your arm."

Unger then fired his father's prize Colt Peacemaker revolver
into the air, drawing raucous applause from the crowd, many of whose
own fathers had suppressed latent physical attraction for their
adolescent sons by channeling their forbidden feelings into totemistic
firearms.

All over the convention floor, gun manufacturers proudly
unveiled new technologies which will allow simmering homoerotic
tensions to be expressed with greater nuance than ever before. At the
Smith & Wesson booth, company spokesman Darrell Trace displayed a
handgun made from a newly developed metal alloy whose "incredibly
hard" nature, he explained, gives it no recoil after discharge,
providing its user with "a far greater sense of control over his
piece."

"It's a very comfortable gun, very soft in the hands," added
Trace, noting that Smith & Wesson had designed the gun to appeal to
"shooters tired of coming home from the firing range with sore,
worn-out wrists."

But even as conventioneers reveled in a two-day orgy of
firearm-to-phallus transference, a dark cloud hung over the event. The
NRA has declined in power over the last decade, and its once-potent
lobbyists have come out on the losing end of key legislative battles
like the Brady Bill, causing many members to bring their lifelong
subconscious fears of castration to the fore.

"If the gun-control lobby wants my rod, they'll have to yank it
from my dead body," said Pocatello-area bar-owner Joseph Greer,
cradling a tell-tale snub-nosed revolver.

"Those guys out there in Washington are tryin' to take our guns
away, but we ain't gonna let 'em," Greer continued, adding classic
paternal displacement to the already-rich psychosexual tapestry. "No
siree, Bob."

Ok, ok. I'm probably gonna be labelled a pansy ass liberal for this but what the fuck....

With the USA being a more potentially dangerous place to live now more than ever I can understand a person having a gun in their house for that 'Dear God I hope it never happens' break-in where some mo'fo comes in to take your shit and kill you if you don't wanna let him. I can especially understand it if the person lives in a high risk area like a big city. I can also understand the owning of guns for hunting. I'm not a fan of going out to shoot deer and the like but I understand that some people like to do it and most of them bring it home and eat it - Fair Enough. Thirdly I can understand the collecting of weapons (like Amputate's collection) that include interesting and rare blades and his gun which is special as he took it to war to defend his country and himself with.

Where I start to get confused is when people start wanting machine guns and the like. WHAT THE FUCK does anyone need with a weapon that fires 100 rounds per minute if they aren't living in a war zone. And don't tell me you want it 'just in case' of some sort of invasion/coup. The next major war the US is gonna fight isn't gonna be on its own soil. Its gonna be on foreign soil and very likely will involve more powerful weapons of mass destruction rather than huge armies marching in to try and take over. They tried that in Korea and Vietnam - it doesn't work. And what is all this shit about 'Is it clean?' Do you REALLY want to own a weapon that might have been involved in a crime? It certainly sounds like Fuxu wants to as his original question was what do you own that you could use to MURDER SOMEONE.

It sounds dodgy to me; in fact if I knew Fuxu personally I'd probably suggest he seek some sort of mental help.

Yeah, I've actually had that 22 long barrel revolver for 30 years. Got it when I was 17. Its amazing what you can hit with that; we used to shoot coke cans at 100 feet. With my modern auto pistols I can't hit anything at 100 feet.

Guns are cool. All I have now is a switch blade knife, which is okay. I'm looking to buy a sword and an airgun in the near future.. Real guns are not allowed in the Netherlands

Yeah, the incident where 2 atf guys and the local sheriff came to my house and politely asked to see my collection. It seems that 'someone' told them I was hoarding fully automatic, illegal weapons. Every piece of my collection was purchased legally. They had no problems with my collection and since its all stored in a very heavy, very secure vault, and everything was in order.

Fucking neighbors, just because you work at home, have some nice vehicles and they see you returning from a gun show with what just 'has to be a machine gun', they gotta go make trouble, call you a drug dealer or a gun runner or a mob member or whatever. Fuck, i'm just your friendly neighborhood pissed off, maybe slightly crazy war veteran type that likes to collect guns. Nuttin wrong with that, right?

Haha, internet gangster. Please. Who cares if the gun I got from the crackhead has 1 body or 10. What do you think the point to buying a gun with a murder on it is? Not to show to the police. Ever need to use a gun real quick and throw it away? Not saying I do, or will, just saying that if soemthing happens with my little brother (friendly block coke meth dealer) I will be there, and the shiney thing in my hand isn't going to be an ice cream scoop. Get me?

Well if you can't guess what my favorite home protection meathod is, you must be blind, and surfing the net in braille.

But I also have these in my collection:

Intratec CAT-9 semi-auto

Intratec Tec 22

ThunderStorm 2 (300k stun baton) - not the shitty cattle prod kind. The whole shaft sparks up.

A few collectible blades

Huge 140lbs Rottie who has a thing for my mailman. (Also got a German Sheppard and a huge Black Lab).

The Rottie alone is probably more than enough for home protection. I had an outdoor kennel built out back where the dogs can run and get some exercise, because there's no way I can "walk" the rottie. He decides to go after something, and I'm gonna be dragged behind him like a can tied to the bumper of a pickup truck.

Edited because I forgot one..

i'm a total civilian. real violence sucks. hooray for deadly combat and ubiquitous fear.

things i have around that kill:

a boring 33" piece of dowel. another 33" stick made of ultrahard fiber glass that can bash clear through a car door. pens and pencils. chemicals. syringes (yay air bubbles). glass. coke cans. things dropped from altitude. 4th story window. ac electricity. clorox + ammonia. a fuck all attitude. string. hair. pillows. sheets. poisonous dried mushrooms. stiff fingers/knuckles/feets. a rock. bathwater. razor blades. my toothbrush. liquid plumr. a disassembled microwave that is still on. potassium nitrate + phosphorus. smoke. fire. pipes. a shovel. wires. printer cables. bricks. a sock. alchohol. pseudofed. aspirin. perscription drugs, tritium gas. mercury. hammers. food forced into the esophagus. screw-together shooting muffler and a cheap little gun.

who cares?
