had a run-in with LAPD while barhoppin this weekend..

got pulled over for riding through a crosswalk while a pedestrian was in it. the cop was parked and watching for this, i was already 2/3 through the intersection when the lady stepped into the crosswalk- coming from the other side of the street. the officer cut her off in his squad car and passed my friends on the wrong side of the street to get me.

he ran my license and plate and gave me the 3rd degree but was overall very nice and just doing his job. no ticket issued.

be careful if you are in l.a., the crosswalk has to be entirely clear- no exceptions.

So he didn't taser or shoot you? Thank God. I thought that was their new standard practice!

Riding through a crosswalk? On a bicycle? Coasting in a car? Skateboard? Motorcycle? If you were 2/3s' past the crosswalk and the woman stepped into it, how on earth is that you're "fault"?

So many questions.

motorcycle. cop said he saw that i was almost through the intersection when the lady stepped into the crosswalk but he said the law states the crosswalk must be entirely clear prior to entering it. i figured it was an excuse to pull me over and run my info and check if i was dui.

Yeh so I'm trying to understand why you got a ticket but the lady didn't? You have no control over when that lady steps into the crosswalk. Sounds like a assinine, not thought out law.

Close call, but good to see they are doing their jobs in a nice way. (Except for almost hitting someone to get you)
