GFY is one of the biggest Internet forums and it has a great forum section for buying/selling. Even if the forum changes ownership, it will not go out of business. Now would be a good time to sell... well 2 years ago would have been better. With all of the companies going out of business what do you think that does for ad dollars being spent to attract affiliates... And the companies not going out of business but shutting down their affiliate programs why would they spend money advertising on a webmaster forum. Writing is on the wall, the days of 40+ companies dropping $2500 a month or whatever here plus a couple skins a month are probably long gone. Selling now while being able to show good numbers still would be better than selling say a year or two from now when those numbers could be 1/2 of what they are now. just saying... I think it is obvious what will happen to sites that rely on big companies to pay lots of money to advertise affiliate programs.

why would they do that on a wm board. I know there are some surfers here but they would be better off buying a surfer board or starting their own from scratch. The only people who would benefit would be bigger programs trying to pimp their own program. I just can't see this site selling for much, maybe 6 months income?? Good...if it happens, hopefully the new owner(s) will actually turn this place into a useful webmaster forum like it once was and rid it of all of the contest whores, or whore should I say since there is one guy with twenty nicks who kills every contest thread, post and sig whores, surfers and flat out idiots who contribute nothing to the forum and just reword original post or post "goodluck" in every thread..
But that will never happen since it brings in page views and that brings in more revenue from advertisers.

Sadly, regular webmaster forums are also seeing a sea change. Definite trend in traffic towards the "other kind" of wm forum. GFY is the giant in its niche so I don't see its position changing. Smaller boards on the other hand. Same situation applies in mainstream.Comment
